    Question Question about Hair Color

I'm interested in dancing... I'm in no shape to do it now, but hopefully after the holiday season.

I'm a natural strawberry blond... more strawberry than blond.
I've seen threads and posts about blonds making more money and brunettes making more... etc. But I've never seen anything about redheads.

Does anyone have an experience dancing as a redhead... or working with one?
Is there really a difference in pay depending on your hair color?

I say stick to your natural red. Any way that you can enhance your unique beauty will pay off.

    I'm also reddish in color.

When I am dancing, I take my hair closer to red because redheads are generally more rare than blondes & brunettes & the dudes that love redheads really love redheads.

Truer words were never spoken. I'm naturally a brunette, but actually look better as a redhead so that's where I keep my hair color and it has always paid off.

i don't like this attitude... if you can't accept yourself right now then dancing may not be for you. i understand the desire to be the best you can be, but as someone who always has the "i'll do it when i have this or that" attitude i'm telling you it can really delay the start process. i think i waited way too long to get started, so i just wanted to give you my 2 cents on that part of your post, which i hope is ok! love yourself as you are and whatever pounds or inches you feel you have to lose will go away naturally,

i think any look can be sexy, but im my experience (in life - not just dancing) blondes get way more attention, even if they don't look as good as the brunette standing next to them. there is just something about that playboy bunny sex appeal that won't fade away. i could give you a million examples about how i (the greek with natural black hair) won't give up my blonde hair for that reason.
anyway, like i said above dance as you are right now and should you decide that you want to dye your hair blonde then go right ahead, but if you're not comfortable in what you have you won't bank, whether your hair is blonde or blue, lol!

Thank you for all the replies.
kjgrll, I had alot of health issues last year and i've gained at least 40 pounds on my already super small 5'1 frame... and it all seems to go right to my tummy. I used to hover around 105 pounds and now at 150 I'm still not used to it and want to drop some weight. Its a new change and I'm not really used to it. I want to go back to a comfortable 'happy' weight for myself before I dance. :]

    Trust me on this one.

    Guys LOVE redheads.

Anything you can do to be different is good. When there's a sea of Blondes and Brunettes, you stand out.

I might have to talk to 8 guys instead of 4, but I promise ONE of the 8 has a redhead crush.

Being a redhead is a blessing, you will BANK. The redhead fetish is a powerful thing.

You could even play it up like I do, my stage name is Lucy. Haha.

There's a girl at my club with the most gorgeous red hair I've ever seen and she's absolutely stunning and banks off the fact that her look is so diff. Rock the red. It's different and can work to your advantage.

I switched from red to blonde recently and I haven't noticed a huge increase in money. What I HAVE noticed is a difference in the TYPE of guy (in general) who comes up to me. I feel like (just my own person opinion) the guys who like me now are far less compatible to me personality wise. I'm more of a goth/punk/alternative chick and the blonde is attracting guys into that whole "girl next door" thing. I actually had a customer say this to me on Friday:

"You look so different now. Before you looked like a hot bad-ass. Now you look more fun and approachable. You look hot both ways, but the blonde is less intimidating"

and, take that how you will. For a lot of girls, this is exactly why they LIKE being blonde. It is for me, on the other hand, why I will be switching back to red very shortly.

When I'm red I always get the "I have a thing for redheads" line. Also, I'm now one of like 67 blondes on the roster at the club. When I'm a redhead I'm one of maybe 6. I like those odds better.

And FTR I don't buy that whole blondes are dumb/ditsy crap.. but I think a lot of guys do. Which, sadly, is why some of them like blondes. The blondes I've known that have banked have been able to pull off that whole bubbly/girly/slightly ditsy thing.

Not to say that smart blondes don't make money either, it's just something I've noticed. I feel like me being blonde is false advertising, if that makes sense. lol

^ I had the same thing happen when I was blonde. That's why I went back to black. Ppl expected me to be all bubbly and everything and I just do not have the personality for that.

    ^^ Same.

OP: I worked as a bottle redhead for years and everyone thought it was natural, and loved it. Rock it out.

I naturally have a few shades above black hair, but my hair is platinum blonde right now. When I started dancing I had light brown hair with some dark blonde highlights... and I've noticed a huge increase in my money as a blonde.

However bleaching my hair constantly and straightening it is just destroying it way too much and even though I LOVE being blonde I'm worried I'm going to have no hair in a year. My hair was already in horrible shape from four years of sewn in hair extensions (I switched to clip ins) and the bleach is just too much.

I have a very girl-next-door image/attitude and I am definitely cute and sweet.. I don't want to go back to being a brunette but I am considering being a red head again. I'm just worried it's going to fuck with my money... and I'm going to have to buy an entirely new wardrobe of stripper clothes

i do the bleacning and weaving and my hair is health as a horse. do you wash it a lot? i think the only reason i can get away with with all the shit i do to my hair is my not washing it much,

why don't you try a temp colour? that's what i do! i'm platinum blonde and sometimes i feel like letting my inner greek girl loose so i don't die it - i use a temporary spray and then clip in my black extensions. the spray does leave a minor tint in the blonde for a few days, but it will wash out.

I am a natural blonde who dyes her hair dark red. It usually looks more brown in club lighting but when guys can see the red it gets a great reaction. I have never danced as a blonde but I can tell you guys do love red because it's different and the love all the stereotypes that go with it. That's good for me because I definitely have that feisty sort of personality! I'm actually going to try a brighter shade this week though so it's more noticeable.

    I agree; Stay red.

I once knew a girl who banked all the livelong day, exploiting her red hair, freckles, and fair skin. She had this amazing resemblance to Jessica Rabbit. It was crazy, guys ate that shit up with a knife, fork, AND spoon! She knew how to play the part too, so that worked to her benefit.

This thread has inspired me to go red...and I'm actually really excited about all the new colors I'll be able to wear. Black hair is BORING when you work in a club full of ethnic girls and goth chicks.
