As 'civilian' heels are maybe 4", why are 6" heels a pre-requisite for dancers?
Just curious.....
Phil.

Improves posture, sticks your ass out, makes legs look longer. They also look sexier.
Eh, I don't think platforms stick your butt out anymore or make you look sexier overall than non platform heels. I used to wear non-platform civilian heels and a lot of guys would tell me they prefer it. I know dancers who won't wear platforms at all, and it doesn't seem to negatively make a difference in their money. If anything I think guys actually prefer it. I always wore them for private dances though because I'm pretty short. The extra height seemed to help make the dance flow better. I got used to platforms on stage eventually because there were certain moves I couldn't do in regular heels, and they're a lot sturdier too.

I think civilian pumps look unprofessional, unless you're super duper tall naturally.
I wear 8"
These exactly: http://www.electriqueboutique.com/wo...N-CLR-BPK.html
I'm only 5 feet tall without them![]()

why not? LOL And I sure don't wear 4" heels in regular heels...owwwwwwwie! 3" max without a platform for civilian shoes.

When I danced I wore normal heels.. maybe 3-4 inches. I'm pretty tall though, and I HATE being taller than every guy. I always wished I was shorter so I could rock the heels, I just feel ridiculous in anything over 4 inches...

Because nothing says hot stripper like a pair of 6 or 8 inch lucite heels.
Sorry I missed church. I was too busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian.

I agree with the ass sticking out and flattening the tummy, making legs look longer. Also should note that the original stripper heels, back when I first started were 6-7inch NON platform heels. Those suckers were sexy as fuck. The plats are more comfy, but they aren't nearly as effective at creating the stripper image imo and they don't stick out the butt or flatten the tummy to the same extent, or create the sexy swagger of a walk the others did. They are also part of the reason more and more girls who really shouldn't be dancers are getting in the business I think. You had to be in damn good shape not to break a leg in the non-plats. (Wobblier shoe required much stronger leg/core muscles in order to avoid falling on your ass, so ALL the girls I worked with back then pretty much had killer bodies compared to many of the dancers today.)
"I hear you calling and it's needles and pins. I wanna hurt you just to hear you screaming my name...You're poision. but I don't wanna break these chains.... I wanna love you but I'd better not touch."

I find it easier to pole dance with the platform heels than civilian shoes.
Civi shoes just really hurt my feet.

Yesterday while I was working I was thinking about regular pumps vs. stripper heels - do the men who come in to the club want to fantasize about the every day girl they see on the street taking off her clothes or do they want to fantasize about a stripper taking off her clothes? Even though the ridiculously high platforms scream "STRIPPER!!!" they definitely aid posture and make the body's lines more elegant (except when girls don't point their toes or let their feet sickle ickkkk).

I have a problem with my left foot due to years of wearing very high heels, stripper or otherwise. It kills me every time I am off it for a prolonged period of time, until I take several steps, then it can break in.
Hazards of the job I guess.

I also think we need to look different from the everyday girl. I mean we'd kinda lose our edge if you came into a SC and we looked like reg girls on the street. You come see us bc theres an air of naughtiness, theres the clothes, the make up and yes the shoes that create us and make us your fantasy.

Well IMO it's not so much a question about the height of the heal as much as it is a question of platforms vs. no platforms.
Don't forget a 6" heal with a 2" platform, is not much different on the foot than a 4" heal without a platform.
The extra height is due to the platform. A dancer can wear a lower heal, but then she's going to have little to no platform.
While wearing the shoes can be asthetically pleasing, it can certainly take it's toll on a dancer's back and other things over time.
IMO the platforms are about adding to the fantasy. Amazonian women taller and bolder than the average woman.
If you can't win. Make the fellow in front of you break the record.

Because they make us feel sexier.
My former dancer also like the taller heels so she could touch the ceiling while on stage. She like 7+ inch heels.
>>>Sad<<<

i don't want to look like a "regular girl on the street" but i do want to look like a really hot woman you can pay to spend time with you. its all about different hustle styles really. i don't think 6" lucites are a pre-req as i've been dancing for close to a decade and never wore them. for my hustle style, body type, and need for comfort, these work perfect for me.
i totally understand how other girls would love the huge shoes however. seems like it would be a power thing, or getting into character.
Just my opinion, with all the competition on heels, one might consider non-heeled shoes (and the look) to set one apart. My eye has been caught more than once by the simple appeal of a waitress in the club wearing slipper-like shoes.

6 inch platfoms have been a standard stripper shoe,it has a 2 inch platform and was designed for a professional dancer to wear for all night long with more comfort and less pain.I remember in the 90s everyone was wearing 5-6 inch non-platform shoes and while you might actually move your foot in this shoe better,it was much more painful than the non-platform.For me,even a 4 inch with a very thin platform was paiful after about 2-3 hours.Best ones (for me) are 6.5,because the platform is 2.5 inches usually.Belive it or not, they are the most comfortable. You stand on your feet for many many hours and if you feel sharp pain during work, you won't make much money.
Civillian women wear 4 inches when they go out,but they don't spend the whole night on their feet, and they don't wear them 4-5 straight night a week either.
So,while for some it is about being taller, for others its all about comfort.

I wear 7" and am 5'5". I like being able to look most guys in the eye at work. For me it adds to the air of assertive and sexy confidence that is the core of my stripper self. I also like having those six inches between my exposed feet and the nasty floor.
It's pretty widely known in Texas that dancers aren't allowed to wear flats. Once a girl at work hurt her ankle, and had to wear that boot, and then was allowed to wear flats but no high heels for a while. She wasn't allowed to dance at all during that time. I remember a manager saying something about a 2" minimum heel is required. In all the time I've danced, I've seen a girl in flats once, on main stage, while she did a skit.
