Hi everyone! Out of curiosity, have anyone one here used stripping to save up money
and started up a business successfully? Or are planning to start their own business?

yes, but I doubt that it could be repeated today ... due to a fundamental change in the 'stripping' business model, the internet's adult entertainment business model, the 'feature' industry business model etc on one side ... and the Section 2257 law, rising small business taxes and poor economic conditions re 'discretionary spending' on the other side.

Yes, I have three businesses that I run while still dancing part time.

Yes. But it is not so great at the moment (new construction of homes). I'm still plugging away with some small remodels, but I lost quite a bit on a spec house that sold for less than I built it in 2007.
Starting a small business during a recession is a great time. If you have the money, and or time to get it going. Realistically there's no place to go but up from here.
Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

Solid products with network marketing business models are BOOMING right now!
The key is to find the product that you honestly can stand behind, use yourself, and recommend to everyone you know.

i run a small clothing company, and dancing helped me to make it into what it is today.
before i started dancing, i went on a per-order basis because i didn't have a ton of cash to throw around developing new things, new product, marketing, etc. when i started dancing and had a little extra cash, i was able to invest it in my buisness, and now it's doing better than ever.![]()

Yes.
Dancing got me out of massive debt, is helping me with my current career, and also a business I'm starting with my family. I would not be where I am today had I not started dancing.
I aspire to own my own t-shirt line
I will definitely be opening my own business(es..) in the near future.. I am getting a degree now and am figuring out exactly what type of business I want and I will definitely go for it! After being in this business I have realized I want to be my own boss! End of discussion. With this money, when invested properly, there is no reason I won't be able to be in charge of my life from here on out. The possibilities are endless.
What are some of the business you girls have opened? I know a few girls at my club who own different types of stores and they say they do well. Are you girls involved in business with the adult world or in a completely different field?

I'd LOVE to start my own business--but I have NO IDEA where to start or how to go about doing it. I'm fantastic with managing money; i.e. I'm good with budgeting, spending realistically, streamlining spending ect. I have no formal training, but it's just something that I enjoy doing and something I feel I'm good at. Because of this, I feel I'd be a great business owner but I don't feel I have enough information about running a business to start one and not get screwed and/or lose money, which I don't wanna do.
I also have no idea how to invest my money, or where to invest it--which sucks because I'd love to know. I just don't understand how it works, and I've been trying to read up on it but I just don't seem to feel like I am grasping the full picture. At the moment, it's just all divided up amongst a savings account, checking account, and a safety deposit box.Which sucks because there is A LOT of it, over $50,000 at this point, and it's getting somewhat ridiculous to keep adding to the accounts when I feel I should be putting the money elsewheres, like everyone else with money, but I just don't know where!

Yes I have. I funded a growing small business, and was able to personally support myself and save while I was growing the business...rather than have to resort to business loans and venture capital. Actually, we only required $10K of venture capital, gifted to us.
Maybe not so much these days, but if you're a good stripper and starting a business, you might be able to get some custy investors. That's a complex strategy, but it never hurts to keep your eyes and ears open.

The easiest small businesses to start are those that are skills and service oriented, because there is low start-up cost. (imo, but I am looking for low start-up cost, because I don't want to invest anything from the get-go and have that responsibility looming over me - I'm not that sure of myself).
My plan is to start my own computer repair business. Very little start-up cost, but I'm studying. Gotta have skills for it.
I like the idea that it has low start-up costs, and I can basically choose how many and which customers I will take. I don't have to do a thing if I don't want to (of course, I think I will want to for the most part). There is no product to turn over. This business can grow as large as I want or stay as small as I want, and I can't lose. I can have it as a side business if I choose to do something else. There's a need for it always, and no matter where I go, it's easy to restart the business out of the comforts of my own home, on craigslist even, and through networking.
Plus, I enjoy the initial challenges of learning all the information and using it to develop a new skill. That rocks. I enjoy doing it. The only part of it I don't think I will like is dealing with the customers. But they won't be around when I am messing with their computer! (at least, some of the time....)
Bf says I will probably get bored with it fairly quickly and move on to bigger $.... I am hoping he is right.

Whoa, I just got a good business idea for those of us who are tech-saavy. A hot chick computer services firm....kinda like sexy maids. But I abhor cleaning, and enjoy working on 'puters.
Hmmmm, I'm too old and ugly to do it myself, maybe I'll recruit and train some local dancers.
Do you think guys would go for it, or do you think they would doubt that a pretty girl is tech saavy enough?

To do it right, it takes a shitload of training. I have access to someone who has already run the business (my bf), got bored, and then handed it off to someone else. He has also taught classes, so.... He has a computer science degree from UC Riverside also, and he works as a Director of Engineering.
We are using a textbook that is 1400 and some pages long, plus hands-on and real-world training. I don't know shit yet lol. It takes time.
You could train the girls to be sales staff, and have the majority of the computer repairs be done remotely. If there is an issue that remote repair cannot cover, the girls will simply take the machine into the shop for further maintenance.
All they'd need to know would be how to set up remote access, and of course how to handle the paperwork, collect payment, etc.
You could call it Comp Squad and have cheerleaders as part of your logo. You could even get them little cheerleader outfits to wear.![]()
Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

I, personally, have years of training, experience, and know my shit. And I imagine the skills for the girls to have would be very basic; backups, OS reinstall, setting wireless networking...
Hmmm, maybe it wouldn't work, too much risk of girls getting hurt and being propositioned for prostitution. Oh well...
Great idea Paris!! THANKS!

No, i think it could work, honestly. Look at Geek Squad. If you had one person who really knew their shit (you), that's all you really need at first. The rest of them can lean on you for things they don't know. It might be difficult to find good employees though.
As far as the risk of girls getting hurt and being propositioned, don't have much to add on those issues. Where's Melonie? lol.

I live in a super tech city, a lot of people know their shit. However, tons of non-tech people are moving here every year, and a lot of males.
We would absolutely do a setup where someone would be in the office on call to take escalated issue calls (me?), and a VPN system for remote access....
I don't have the startup capital right now, and stripping isn't lucrative enough these days. But it sounds AWESOME! I'm going to bring it up to a few people I know with some monies.

unfortunately, here is your major competition re computer repairs ...Where's Melonie? lol
Yes. I currently am a subcontractor in the industrial hygiene field. My expertise is air quality during asbestos removal and asbestos inspections though I can also do lead inspections, black mold inspections, and ground water sampling. Subcontracting doesnt bring in much money right now because of the economy being the way it is but Im saving my money to buy my own equipment and qualify for my own lab license.

Yes. I was a freshman in college when I started stripping. The initial goal was simple, make enough to pay my room and board for the remainder of the semester. LOL, talk about aiming low. By the end of the semester, I had enough "saved" to pay my tuition for the next semester. I followed that plan to the middle of my sophomore year when I enlisted the help of my Accounting 201 TA to formulate something more like a business. Up to that point, I had been stripping and putting my nightly net earnings in my purse and paying my bills. I put what was "left over" in my savings account and promised myself that I wouldn't pay anything out of savings except my tuition, room, board and books. My accounting TA pointed out that this was a bad system in that I wasn't paying myself, so I never had any spare money. Thus I was always tempted to dip into savings just to buy a pizza or gas or fix my car. He convinced me to set up a business with a budget and forecasts and pay myself a draw, out of which I would pay my bills and have some spending money. The business held my tuition money. (Room and board had been converted to rent and groceries as I had moved out of the dorm.) Of course, since the business had bank accounts and the like, it also had to make tax payments. A good thing it turned out as it made getting my first home loan a snap. Four years of tax returns, estimated returns and enough corporate records to fill a 4" expandable file folder impressed my banker. The second semester of my sophomore year and all my junior year, I followed that plan. My senior year, the plan became mostly about building up enough money to have some investments and cushion when I graduated. For the most part, a business plan worked as a means of discipline for me. Like all good business plans, mine was a living document. That is, I reviewed it regularly to see if it was still meeting my needs and to see where I could make improvements.

One of these days I'm hoping to open my own grooming business. I've groomed for several years and absolutely love it. I've been wanting to open one for a long time but don't have the means to do it. I need to save more than I spend.

I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.
Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.
NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.
Im starting a business! Photography - newborns, children and families. Its WAY more expensive than I thought it would be! I dont dance anymore but I just may go back so I can afford all the equiptment I need - not to mention Im greedy and want a Nikon D700 which is super expensive. Lighting, backdrops, props, clothes (for newborns), etc etc etc it all adds up.
Id like to rent somewhere so I can have a seperate studio eventually but wont do that until I have the good camera and equiptment.
