    Default Wigs?

    Hi everyone,

I have a very distinctive look, and even when I tried dancing at a club 30 miles from where I lived, I had people recognizing me. (of course I denied it). However, I am considering wearing a wig at work to disguise myself better. Does anyone know where I might be able to buy a fairly decent quality wig that will stay on during dances and polework? I am not looking to spend too much money, maybe around $100 or a little more...

    Thanks,
    *Kiti*

There are other posts about this. Do a search for "wig" and you'll find a bunch.

I do wanna say though, that unless your wig REALLY looks real... customers will be asking you to take it off the entire shift. I've known plenty of girls who worked with wigs (self included) and only a couple of them could pass for real hair. Even a wig that looks great can still look "fake". It doesn't mean you won't sell dances. I've had really awesome days wearing a wig. Just letting you know you'll get hounded about it the entire time you work.

Adding: I would suggest extensions over a full wig, but since you're trying to disguise yourself, I'm not sure that would be enough.

If someone knows you well enough to recognize you...they will recognize you with a wig on.

If anybody could tell I was wearing a wig during my shift, they were polite enough not to tell me so. I always feel self conscious in my wig, though--OMG EVERYONE CAN TELL!!!!!--and once I had a hairpiece fly across the room during my stage set. humiliating.

I don't spend a lot on wigs because they don't last long. I just buy synthetic ones (around $40) at the wig/beauty shop in my neighborhood. They have the best prices and the best selection.

^ i've had a hair extension fly across the stage... Three times... And fall out during an LD... Twice.

I've only ever known one girl was wearing a wig that I wouldn't have known until she told me, but hers was about $500.
