    Default Portland Blues

just wondering if anyone else on here works in Portland. And, if so, what have their experiences been lately as far as working here goes. For the last month, I haven't even been making enough money to support myself. Thank god for my savings account! but that won't last very long! before a month ago, i generally did decent here, or at least made enough to pay my rent, buy groceries, and make car payments. At this rate, I will have to sell my car! or move in with relatives in the midwest! I have been auditioning at other clubs, and moving around, but it doesn't seem to help.

I live in Eugene, and we live in one of the hardest hit regions economically. I'm starting to get nervous, too. It seems like every time I go out another business has closed it's doors. I start cringing internally every time I see "Everything must go!" signs in shop windows.

Do you ever travel to dance? The upper mid-west seems to be ok. Montana, North and South Dakota all seem to be keeping their girls busy and making money. You also might consider Texas, but the contact levels are considerably higher than in Portland. Normally I would suggest Bend/ Redmond since ski season is starting, but the agency hasn't had a booking for that region in months! Which is really weird, as we usually get at least a 2-3 shows a week from Bend.

Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

I work in Portland and two weeks ago started working at a downtown club. This last week I haven't done so hot, but the least I've made at this club so far is $140 in a night after tipout and stage fee. I haven't even made it to the VIP room once yet. However, I am a hustlecat - If I am at work, I am on the floor talking to a guy, working it - I hardly talk to the other girls at all because I'm so focused on money. There is money in Portland - I would recommend one of the downtown clubs - at least the one I work at seems to attract a lot of businessmen who come into town for work and conferences and I more than doubled my average since I started working here. What kind of clubs have you been working at? Before I worked at a dive club far out on the east side and was averaging about $100-150 a night.
