    Default interviewing for/being an applicant

    Hi all-

Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on the best ways to go about pursuing a potential job? Should you only talk to those clubs that have notes on their websites or whatever saying that they are hiring? Should you call and leave a message, or send an email, or simply show up and ask to speak to the Person in Charge of Hiring? I don't want to come across as nervous or hesitant, but I don't want to be annoyingly aggressive, either. So...thoughts, anyone?

Just call the clubs and ask if they are currently hiring entertainers, when the auditions are, and what to bring.

Visit if you can on the same shift you want to work. Ask how to audition.

Either call or just show up. I'd call just to find out what typical time they like to have auditions and what not. Most clubs are always hiring (most). I did two auditions in my life, one club just asked me to come dance at amatur night and they gave me a job when I came in 2nd place. The other one asked me to come in around noon on a weekday just before the club was opened. I danced two songs onstage while all the other girls sat and watched me in the audience and giggled and whispered things to each other. Was REALLY nervewracking but I got the job. Don't worry about being aggressive. Be aggressive and go for it!
