    Default Multivitamin and weight gain?

Is there any way a regular multivitamin can make you gain weight? I've always been right at the border of underweight. I'm just naturally thin. I was around 123 for the longest time and then back in June (because of being ill) I dropped to 118. I started eating like crazy and I still couldn't put the weight back on. I started taking a multivitamin daily and the weight shot up and over what I was. I'm 128 now... which is the biggest I've ever been. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the weight. I've always wanted to be 125-130 (I'm 5ft6.. very small frame). But, I can't figure out what happened. I'm eating exactly the same as when I was trying to gain weight before. The only difference I know of is that I'm taking a multivitamin. Nothing crazy either, just a one-a-day... and most of the time I only take 1/2 (because a full one upsets my stomach, even with food). What gives?

I'm still working the same amount and I'm exercising the same... maybe a bit more because I do a new pilates routine now.

Our metabolisms are crazy things I tell ya! They have a mind of their own. Maybe the multivitamin gave your body the nutrients that it needed to properly function and utilize the food you eat. Especially if you eat even somewhat healthy. Certain vitamins and nutrients NEED others to be absorbed otherwise they are junked.

I agree with Danni, that is pretty random though.

But I eat pretty healthy. At least I thought I did.

Maybe it was that crazy eating from after you were sick catching up on you. I can pig out for 3 weeks and only start to gain at the end of the 3rd week. As in one day I'll be 118 and wake up the next at 124. It's bizarre. Then I have to work out like crazy for 2 weeks to get back down.

Also how old are you? Could you metabolism just be slowing? I gained weight every year since University and hadn't really changed anything. In fact I was eating waaaaay better. I eventually had to go hard at the gym and clean up my eating even more to get back to what I was 5 years ago. (Im 27)
