Default Do you consider stripping hard?

Right now I'm looking at clubs in the area so that I can go back to the business. Then I think about all that goes into it, right body, right moves, right persona, right outfits, right hustle and I wonder. Do you think stripping is a hard way to make a living? Do you consider it easy quick cash?

This is a very subjective question dependent on a lot of factors.

It really depends on the club and on your natural personality and your natural body type. If you are working at a club that is often busy and the customers who come in typically want to buy dances, then it is easy. But if you are at a club that is slower and the customers who come in typically want extras then 8 hrs of hustling will wear you out for sure. Also, if you are working at high contact places it might be harder work. And if you are working at a club that takes half of your money then it is harder work. And if you are working at a club that is just 10$ dances it will be harder work possibly than a club where you can sell CR rooms fairly easily. And also you have some clubs where tipping on stage is normal and lucrative-- at some clubs you can expect to make at least 30$ every time you go on stage. But at other clubs 10$ is a lot for one stage set. So location really is a big part of it.

If you are a naturally flirtatious person, then your job will be easier but if you are someone who has to consciously tailor everything you say and do to please the customers, then it will be more mentally taxing.

As far as fitness and maitenence: lol this is also dependent on who you are. some girls can eat and eat and maybe hit the gym once a week and have a super body... others have to have a very restricted diet and work out an hour a day to get the same body.

So yea, I would try to find a club that fits you best-- that is the biggest factor within your control. A lot of girls on here seem to believe that you can make money anywhere if you hustle hard enough or you cant make money anywhere because of the recession yada yada yada. Frankly, as someone who travels a lot and works lotsa different clubs, i disagree. Sometimes the grass really is greener on the other side and sometimes where you are at is best. For instance, i am temporarily working in Pittsburgh and there is money to be made here but for me its a terrible match. The nude contact dances and the way the customers act stress the hell out of me. And the club takes almost half of our money. And this is a busy club. But putting up with the bullshit to make money makes it hard, mentally taxing work for me. Just having the energy to wear a smile and keep a friendly sexy voice ends up being hard work after a couple of hours! But I had an easier time making money at a club in cleveland that had a lot less business just because it stressed me out less. I have also worked at a couple of clubs where it seemed i didnt do jack shit except be my natural lovely self and i walked home with 800$-- that definitely falls in the easy quick cash category. For me finding a club that i like makes a world of difference as well as a couple hundred a night difference. And i have also worked at clubs where the norm is to take home 400 a night (even in this economy) and then there are clubs where the norm is to struggle to take home 100 a night, 200 a night if you have game. That falls in the 'stripping is hard work' category for sure. So i would investigate the clubs well and find the one that will be the easiest cash for you.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

It depends on a number of factors but the most important ones, as stated above, are your personality, looks, and hustle. If you are solid in all three then you will make money anywhere. Though, there are some things to look for in a club before setting yourself to one. How much are dance prices? $40 will grow larger than $20. Do you have VIP/Champagne rooms? Sometimes you can get $800+ hour for one of them if you happen to meet the right guy. How high is the house fee? Is it a flat rate or do they take money from your dances? Where is the club located? Closer to downtown cities usually means more out of town business guys, same with airports. How long has the club been open? Are there extras? Etc, I could go on and on.

Bottom line is stripper is easy money if you keep your game up, take care of yourself, and have a positive attitude towards customers and girls.

dancing, for me, is only hard if i'm working in a shitty club. otherwise, i think dancing is great. it's the house fees and the unemployed customers that are the issue.

It's hard work in that in order to make money the average dancer has a huge learning curve ahead of her.

$200-$300 a night might seem like a lot of money to a newbie, and making it may seem easy... but making real cash takes skills that come with experience. I see girls at my club struggling miserably to break $200 in 8 hrs, for them I would say it's a difficult job. Then again they either A) haven't been dancing that long or B) refuse to learn from their years of experience, and therefore their hustle sucks.

I say dancing for large quantities of cash gets quicker and easier the longer and harder you work at it, lol.

I agree with Athena, it really depends. I'm lucky because I have great genes; I'm naturally pretty and I eat like a pig never exercise and still constantly get complimented on my body. But I'm unlucky in the personality department; I'm really shy and not a very flirtatious and sexuL
person by nature. It's taken a lot of work to get past that and it still causes me difficulty every night. I also work in a dirty club and so dealing with customers is trying and my club takes half
my money. But it's usually fairly busy and we attract a wealthy clientele.

At the end of the day though I don't think it's ever an easy job. Every other job I've had I've been able to go on autopilot and not have to be on my game every minute of every day. With stripping you have to be active every day and constantly puttting in effort. If you go on autopilot and stop tailloring your hustle to every customer no one is going to spend money on you. And if you just sit back and hope they're going to come to you and put in no active effort to get customers... well you're just fucked.

For me it's a hell of a lot easier than my old "normal" jobs. I used to manage staff and work 70 hour weeks for less money. I constantly had someone who needed something "right now" and no one ever said "thank you". There was never a moment when I wasn't thinking about work. I had to work at home after work and I literally dreamt about work too. That was hard.

Working whenever I feel like it, looking hot, talking to guys and dancing=easy for me. The hardest part is knowing that I can't do it forever.

I think part of it depends on your earning potential outside dancing. For me , it turned out that dancing was harder than I thought. I was already established in my day job ( started dancing at 28 ) , so my dancer money just seemed kind of ....eh .... not bad ....not great.
If I would have given dancing more time ( by becoming a better hustler, working more consistently , building more regularas, stopped being a traveling dancer and moved somewhere to dance more regularly ect. ), I think I would have been happy with it.
I ended up just focusing on my day gig ( mostly because I was getting stressed .... my boyfriend hating dancing, my family didn't know ect. ). In order for me to be the best dancer I could be, I would probably have to tell my family what was up and I couldn't face the conversation.

Not easy as its very physical AND emotional and takes a toll on your body but hey my body is in the best shape its ever been. So it's hard work but the money is GREAT.

Considering it quick easy cash is a mistake I think a lot of ppl make. There is NOTHING easy about this job. It's a hastle from start to finish. If you can handle it then the money is fab, but I think ppl need to look at all the other aspects BESIDES the money. The money is the prize you get for surviving.

^^^ I agree with Jay. I don't think its ever "easy." Its not rocket science, but I don't think its ever just plain easy money. It was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be when I started out. You have to put up with a lot of bullshit with this job. It is worth it, to me, but regardless of what kind of clientel your club brings in, its never easy.

It used to be quick and easy cash, the economy has really changed that though and it takes a lot more to be successful in this business.

I think whether someone considers it "hard" probably depends a lot on how much they enjoy it. To me even when the money is down I don't consider it "hard". It beats coming into work to see an overloaded inbox, overfilled email, and a huge list of calls to make. At least when I come in it's generally the start to a fresh day and when I leave my work stays pretty much at work.

I find it difficult, but it's all about the individual (amongst other factors).

I think if I worked in a different city I might feel differently. I've never been a great stripper though. On one hand, I'm really good at dancing/giving dances, I'm fairly attractive, and I know how to talk to people.

On the other, I'm brutally honest, and I absolutely can't act to save my life.. this includes pretending to be interested in a guy. I just can't, it's not in me (not that anything is wrong with it). I'm also a "niche" dancer. I tend to make either the most or the least depending on who walks in the door. A smaller percentage of the "average strip club guy" are into me. So, when that % doesn't come in.... I find myself pretty screwed. When they DO, I do well. IOW I tend to "bank" more often than most girls, but I also tend to go home totally broke on (these days) more occasions than I'd like to admit.

    I'll be honest with you:

I feel that the girls who have the "easiest" time stripping are those who can act like the "stereotype" of a stripper. I don't mean just playing dumb. I mean it's a whole persona. The girls who are fun-fun-fun, flirty, etc. all the time are the ones who are going to appeal to the general customer population. Most strip club customers come in looking for what they've decided "a stripper" is. It also doesn't hurt to be fairly close to the ideal image of femininity. The average customer (not all, but most) likes long hair, manicured nails, and a general aura of "femme". I don't mean big tits or blonde hair either... I just mean the girlieness itself.

I have always been a tomboy. I may have a feminine frame, but I talk a lot more like a guy. I also have short nails, short hair, etc. Some guys love it, true, but it's a much smaller percentage.

All of this isn't to say that one type of girl is "better" than the other on a real-world scale. I'm just saying that as far as -stripping- goes.. you will have an "easier" time if you fit the ideal. Although there are other factors like the city you work in and etc, as was explained earlier.

adding (as if I didn't say enough): Even for the girls who I say have it "easy" it's still work. Dancing is very physical and can be mentally taxing to even the biggest banking, head-on-straight, girls.

I feel the exact same way. Since I'm a black chick, I'm more a niche stripper. I'm not good at pretending and not matter how hard I try, I can't come off as air head-ish or 'party chick.' I'm not saying that guys are not into me, but I feel I have to work harder to get them to notice me, or see that I'm attractive, if that makes any sense. I usually have less guys than the average stripper who are going to buy from me. I'm not saying blacks/alternative looking strippers can't bank or be top earners, it just takes more effort usually. I fit the sterotypical stripper look definately however, I look really girlie at work.
