    Default citi bank - liars

ok now i am having troubles with citi bank.
so i opened checking account throught theirs website. i dont have bank service senters in my state. when i log in to my account it doesnt work. i called 2 times, wrote 1 mail, sent 3 messages - not getting any help. since my online banking doesnt work i can not transfer money to cover montly fees. so in two months i got two overdraft fees.
finaly i called and closed my account the represenitive said the fees were waived, wich is nice. i asked him if they could send me letter confirming that account has been closed, he sayed they dont do that.
so, month later i got letter saying my account is blocked and i need to pay these overdraft fees. ?!???
    what do i do now,somebody?

i will write later with updates.

You could try reporting them here: Federal Financial Institution Examination Council.

Lesson for everyone: Local banking is the best banking.

The truth is, a lot of the laws and regulations, as well customs, for doing business over the internet is still up in the air in many ways.

I just had to pull my ChexSystems report and credit report because of a stupid fucking problem Bank of America made with me over a $10 overdraft. Long story short, $10 turned into $211.11 after fines and fees, which was reported to a collection agency when I refused to pay. I had to pay them the money to prevent them from reporting my delinquent account to the credit reporting agencies. My debt will show up on a ChexSystems report for seven years, but that is only accessed by financial institutions. I was told that I could possibly have it expunged from my record early, but I doubt that is possible.

    We'll see.

Chase sucks too. I do not bank with any large financial institutions anymore (chase,wells-fargo,citibank,wachovia etc.) The only one I've only heard good things about is USAA. The bad part is they don't have branches anywhere that I know of. All transactions are done online or over the phone. You should try a local credit union. Many times they cater to unions of some type firefighters, police dept, school teachers or military, so they are usually reputable and even offer better rates.

I left the large banks and went with online banks like Etrade, Ally since the savings/money market and checking rates are some much better. Also if you have a local credit union i would recommend joining that since you get the most perks and usually the lowest loan rates.

I had a Horrible problem with bank of America a few months ago.

About a year ago, I was having $50 deducted from my bank every month to go towards a Jewish charity heavily affiliated with my synagogue. Then times got tough financially, and on top of it I ended up with a big medical bill. I went in and told them I had to stop the automatic transfers to the charity, and start up an automatic transfer to the hospital, also in the amount of $50, to start covering my bill. They set it up for me and sent me on my merry way. Or so it seemed, until I got a letter from the hospital months later saying they hadn't received any money from me. Turned out they hadn't changed a damn thing, and my money was still going to the charity. I was wicked pissed. They wanted me to call up my synagogue and demand my money back! I told them there was no fucking way I was asking a Jewish charity to give back money they desperately needed, and that they would pay for their own damn mistake and refund my money. They wouldn't even give send me a written notice confirming they had stopped the automatic transfer, and had the gall to tell me that was because "if they put it in writing, then it we would be legally bound." Well, you fucking should be legally bound to do what I tell you to do with my money!!!

I spent the entire day making a series of phone calls and being more and more of a bitch and just generally refusing to stop crawling up their ass, and it eventually worked. They paid me back the money and I didn't have to take it from the synagogue. Moral of the story is to just never fucking stop hasling them.

There was one that only showed violence and anger once; it was the money changers that did it.
