Well im not black, but i know a thing or two about dancing.

First off, texas is a big state. so if you want specific club recommendations, you might want to narrow the region down a bit.

Second off... as far as i can tell in regards to being "ghetto": I would say it depends on the club. If you are at a booty shaking club that is primarily a black club, then it is fine (i started out at a club that was mostly black girls,,... lotsa booty shaking) and you will be doing lotsa booty shaking, or booty shaking and grinding depending on the contact level in your area. Now if you choose to work at an upscale club, you are going to need to turn down the booty shaking at least for the audition probably. And then see what works for you...i worked at a white club where a girl would get on stage and do the craziest stuff ive ever seen a girl do with her bum! And did some amazing pole tricks... she was a lot of fun to watch and guys liked it. But, she didnt act "ghetto" when she was off stage. When she was off stage, she didnt act the stereotype for the most part unless she thought it was fit. So you have to judge the people you are talking to, if you think they are looking for ghettofabulous, then act ghettofabulous (some guys are... some guys will only spend on girls who act "ghetto" usually these guys are easy to pick out). Now a lot of older gentlemen love black girls, but are a bit to conservative for the stereotypical "ghetto" stuff so you have to tone it down to match them. Knowing how to act like a "lady" will be advantageous here.

as far as would you fare better in all black or white clubs: how toned are you. The white clubs often will only hire black girls who are really thin, sometimes they only hire black girls who "look white." If you are thick, then the black clubs would probably appreciate it more. If you are toned and thin with a booty, then you can bank in the clubs where you are a minority. Heck, you can try the upscale clubs if you are thick too, but like i said, a lot are hesitant to hire thick girls. also, what kind of atmosphere do YOU personally feel you would thrive in? Do you picture yourself banking in a party atmosphere or do you prefer the idea of being at a club where you have to wear a long gown and act classy? Both have advantages, but some girls have a particular preference. Mine is working 2 clubs, one of each, so i can work at the party one if im in a party mood and at the classy one if im in a sit down and talk to old dudes mood. You know your personality and you can probably answer the question of which you would prefer already!

Im hoping i am writing this without sounding completely ignorant. I dont really like using the term "ghetto."
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

All that depends on you really. 1st white clubs dont want ghetto booty in their establishment brings down the club value so to speak. So if you go there come correct black barbie becky like. On the other hand I believe Onyx is down there. Onyx is an upscale black club. Again no ghetto asses need apply. Booty shaken yes. Big hoop earrings and bullet wounds no. LOL you're in Texas I'm sure you can find which ever type of club you're looking for. Just observe and match the atmosphere 1st as to not get your feeln hurt.

The only thing you need to know about being a "black dancer" is that you should just be yourself. If you're into all the booty shakin', and you have the body to back it up, go where you can do what you do best. If you're more into elegance and the classy look, find somewhere that suits that style. If you have a unique or "club" look, find someplace that will let you rock that, and get hired there! Guys like all sorts of women, there's someone for everyone out there. The other thing to know is, if guys are looking for a specific thing (booty shakin', lap grindin', wild stage shows, etc.) they probably already know where to find it. I wouldn't pigeon-hole myself and get locked into a look or a particular style of dancing or anything like that if I didn't know what kind of entertainer I was yet. You should try a few different places and see which you like best. You'll know when you're out of your league and when you feel comfortable.

I think the best thing you can do is smile, be polite, and pleasant. If you have a sense of humor, work that into your hustle when you get more into schmoozing the customers. Customers like to spend time with ladies who are truly entertaining.

Personally, I'm bi racial, lots of times people just assume I'm black and that's it. That doesn't bother me any. I don't think it affects my money that much. I know my niche, and I know what kind of customers I work best with. Customers generally find me fun to be with, spontaneous, full of energy, and interesting to talk to. I'm also very down to earth.

If you work at a place where you can select your own music, pick stuff that you like, that makes YOU feel sexy. Whenever I have my choice I dance to King Diamond, Metallica, Slayer, or some other metal stuff - because that's what I feel sexy dancing to. I generally choose to work in either the upscale clubs, or the dive biker-style bars. *My stage persona and music selection ALSO opens up a lot of doors for me as far as gaining the attention of customers who wouldn't ordinarily notice me. So, for me, my look, my personality, and how I am, that's what works best for me. The whole booty shakin', grinding thing really isn't me. I wish it were, I'd like to get some of that booty money, ya know? I tried working in one of those kinds of places, but everybody just keep callin' me white, and I didn't care for the clientele. I felt they were "hard to work with" as far as communicating to sell dances and working the floor. That's just me and my experience though. You might bank in a place like that. Everybody is different. At any rate, I encourage you to find your niche, and work it!

    Good luck!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Cinnamonkisses runs a group for dancers of color. Request an invite.
    Cheers.
