Default Does anyone have their home pole on an area rug?

I live in a studio, and the only available space I have to put my xpole is dead center of my "living room space" which has an area rug because the original rug is old and unsightly. I was thinking of putting some of that gripping shelf lining underneath my rug to give it more support. Any ideas on how this will work?

My pole slides around a bit at the bottom on an area rug, as it is really more firmly attached at the top. I don't know if you can see it in the avatar but it is tied to a beam in the ceiling. It works just fine once you get used to it and are prepared.

I suppose tricks done low down on the pole wouldn't work so well in this case but I do mine at the top more.

When I was researching previous posts on personal poles, I saw some of your posts. Didn't you make your own pole? I thought you did.

I have yet to set it up, but the adjuster rod on the xpole is what keeps it secure at the bottom, that won't slide my rug around?

Yeah it's galvanized steel, electrical conduit pipe, lol. Slippery as hell but therefore good practice.

I imagine if there is tension holding the pole in place, top and bottom, that the bottom wouldn't slide around very much. But I never had an X-Pole so wouldn't know for sure.

I guess I will find out then. I heard steel is the most slippery. I went the safer route and got the 45 chrome xpole. I almost settled on the Lil Mynx, but heard it had the most friction, and I don't want that much grip or I might get use to it. I would prefer the titanium gold, but even the chrome is a bit too pricey imo. Thanks for your insight!
