    Default Ortho Tri Cylen LO

Okay ladies, first time taking the pill.. (i'm 26) been using condoms with my boy..bout damn time for the pill. I'm looking forward to the lighter periods (and no babies)!
Just kinda worrying about the 'side effects'.. you hear the horror stories of blood clots, stroke.. i'm kinda freaking out. But since i dont smoke, am healthy i assume (so does the dr.) that i'll be fine.. just nervous rant i guess. Has anyone you know had serious side effects from Ortho Tri cylen Lo, or any pill?

I got pregnant on ortho tri cyclen lo, I'm due in April.

Anyway, I took that pill for over three years. Minimal side effects. Has no effect on my periods, they still come regularly and can still be really heavy.

When I first took it I was nauseated, but only for a day or two. It never made me break out or gain any weight, I had clear skin and was a size 0 or a size 2 the whole time I was on it.

I took Yaz, I never had any side effects. I quit taking it 10 months ago and I'm still not pregnant (I'm married, and would like to be pregnant).

I've been on over 10 kinds of BC pills. Ortho Tri twice. I had no side effects on this one at the start except nausea for the first two days of each pack. Later I started spotting in between periods which is why I had to switch. The pill also kills my libido and I'm sure it gives me mild depression and horrible PMS. But for 10 years I thought it was worth those side effects. Now I'm married and 27 so it's not the end of the world if I did get pregnant, so I am able to go off it.

I have been on it a while. No side effects at all (not even nausea anymore, just with the first pill pack for a couple days). I do want to switch though as I spot between periods a lot and it is annoying. Otherwise it's okay.

Laurisa, didn't you say in another post that the reason you got pregnant was because you were taking another medication that lessened the effectiveness of your birth control? Not trying to pick on you, just wanted to point out that that possibility is something everyone should probably be aware of, since you also mentioned that your doctor didn't warn you about that. So, probably a good idea to ask your doctor if any new medication will effect your BC.

I wasn't taking that medication when I got pregnant, I hadn't taken it regularly for six months. It was called Trileptal and treated epilepsy as well as bipolar disorder, but the medication was not in my system at the time of conception.

I had been pregnant prior to this pregnancy as a result of the medication I was taking, that is probably what you were referring to. I was not taking that medication when I got pregnant with my son this time around.

Been on it for almost a full month now.. less facial hair, and that's great. I have NO appetite. I have to FORCE myself to eat. No interest in food.. i have lost 5lbs already. (Kinda good in a way, since i'm overweight.) But..i dunno if i should just stick with this pill, and keep losing weight.. or.. what? I used to eat a TON like, all day i was hungry 24/7.

^LOL ya thats a dream. I think most people experience increased appetite on the pill. It is not normal to be hungry 24/7, especially if youre already overweight. I'm guessing you previously had a hormone imbalance that was making you overeat.
