Default To cold to walk my dog :(

I don't know what to do about this weather and my puppy! I have a 7mo malti-poo who has so much energy and loves to go for walks-when it's warm out. But for the last week it's been -25--30C (-13--22F?), plus windchill. She comes into the house shivering after going out for a super quick potty trip, even with her doggie sweater. I can tell she's bored in the house, and there's only so long either of us can stay interested in chasing a toy across the living room.

She has a single layer coat cut into a kennel cut (by a horrible groomer who didn't listen to what I asked for, trying to grow it out) and she's 5.6lbs.

Any suggestions for inside games or how to beat the weather?

Is there somewhere new you could take her that is inside? I am pretty sure that a lot of obedience schools also have like a puppy playgroup sort of thing. that would be inside so she would be warm and would be somewhere new so she wouldnt be bored. i guess it would require her to be good with other dogs, but if she was bad wiht other dogs you could actually do obedience classes to get her better with other dogs.

There are also some fun type of obedience classes. When i was a preteen, i got a sheltie puppy and i took it to obedience class, then after that i took it to some sort of obstacle type class where they had to like walk up ramps and things like that. it was entertaining for me at the time and the dog seemed to like it.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

Have you tried taking her shopping at a big box pet store like PetSmart or PetCo? I know there is an indoor dog park in Dallas, TX. I've been searching for something similar in my state, but so far no luck. You may have better luck since it seems the climate is ideal in your region for an indoor dog park.

When my dog got fixed, I was supposed to keep her quiet and calm for 2 weeks. I've got a border collie. They are as hyper as a Jack Russell but large enough to do some real damage. I would take her for a drive so that she could smell the air and have a change of scenery, too.

Yes, my pets are totally spoiled.

A company called neo-paws makes a doggie jacket out of neoprene. It's like a drysuit for a dog. They make dog shoes too.

Teach her lots of tricks! Training is mentally tiring for your dog, but also fun. My guy knows stuff like play dead, crawl, sit pretty, open the fridge and get me a bottle of water, as well as all of the basic obedience work.

We also play games sometimes like "hide the toy." If she is toy driven and has a good stay, get her to stay in one room while you hide a toy then get her to find it.

This is a good opportunity to work obedience though. As long as you keep training fun for her (lots of food rewards and toys), then soon you'll have the best behaved Maltipoo around, which will make bringing her places even more enjoyable later.

Play with her, tickle her, tug of war, fetch with a squeaky toy. My dog could be amused all day by squeaky toys when he was alive xoxo
