Default Am I Wasting My Time?...

Hey everyone. I’m hoping you might be able to give me some brutally honest insight here... I’ve been wanting to get into stripping for some time now but the only real asset I seem to have is my people-pleasing nature. I’m a bit of a social chameleon, a blank slate personality, very good at telling others what they want to hear and being whatever they want me to be in a very convincing way.

My biggest setback is unfortunately the most important requirement- my body! I definitely did not enter this world with even the slightest genetic blessing and my body has taken a lot of abuse and neglect by me over the years. I‘m only 21 but it definitely shows. My breasts were never perky but after several instances of losing and gaining upwards of 50 pounds, excess skin has made them incredibly saggy, especially for A cups. My ass has an obvious amount of cellulite, which never goes away no matter how heavy or thin I am. If I had the money, I would definitely invest in plastic surgery but right now that’s not an option for me.

Again, I'm hoping that you'll give me a brutally honest assessment of my situation. I’m obviously not hirable by even middle-ground club standards so I’m looking more towards the low-end clubs. My question to you all is: Is it even worth it for me, given how little I might earn? How bad would my earnings likely be? Provided I lose some weight and start working out again, is there even a small possibility of me being hired at a low-end club? If you’ve ever worked at a lower-end club , have you worked with women who had bodies that were in as bad/worse condition than mine? I’m on Long Island, as a point of reference. I didn't bother showing much of my tits in the photos because if I am hirable, I'd much rather dance at a club where I can wear pasties.

Thank you all so much in advance.

Hehe, you look great. Just make sure you're in good shape or if possible the best shape you can get in. I mean as far as muscle tone and strength; make sure you can dance around for at least 10 minutes straight, etc. As far as your shape not being attractive that is just bogus. Your problem won't be appearance it'll be confidence, and if you have none it will show!

Just tone your muscles ESPECIALLY YOUR THIGHS and lower body. You will need strength to lower and raise yourself gracefully around the pole, on the floor, etc. I work out by putting on an album and seeing how far I can get through it ( dancing the whole time ).

What you do with your body based on your confidence will show a lot more than a boob job or some other surgery. All in all you look great and if you know it it WILL make you appear more attractive!

Exactly. Just work on your confidence girl. Go ahead and try a low end club. Iv worked at dives before and trust me you would be one of the best looking there. At dives you'll see girls with c section scars, major stretch marks, and upward of 200 lbs, so no, you dont have a very bad body at all to start stripping. If I were you Id go for middle ground. Try a garter with the stockings. Iv always had good luck with those and it will make you stand out since hardly anyone wears them anymore. You have an innocent face and a nice curve to your stomach and hips. Just try some squats to tone up the but. What state are you dancing in? I would go with two peices to show off the curves you have, or a corset and garter with stockings.

I don't know who did such a number on your self esteem, but you look perfectly fine to be a dancer. You would indeed be one of the hottest girls at a dive, but maybe that would be a good way to build confidence. But, if you want to go to a midlevel club, that should work for you too.

You look amazing! D: I don't know where on earth you got the idea that you look otherwise. Like Firewall said, just tone the lower part of your body, (leg lifts, jogging, eliptical, pilates [these all tone your legs/butt amazing, it does for me]), and you'll be perfect!

You just need to go try it. Go check out the clubs and see which ones have girls that either are on the same level of attractiveness or that you would be the best looking girl. Your chances of getting hired will be higher and it will boost your confidence.

Yes, you are wasting time because you are on here posting pictures instead of going out and auditioning at the clubs!

I think most low end clubs would hire you for sure. And if you dance there for a couple of weeks hopefully it will tone you up,... from the pics it doesnt look like a middle end club would be a stretch as long as you knew how to dance/present yourself. You have an attractive face and you have very round hips, guys love a girl with a badonk-a-donk. Sculpting and butt excersises (try squats) will help add more roundness to your bum, then it will look great.

If cellulite is a problem, buy some self tanner-- it helps make you look more toned and hide blemishes. For stuff you can buy at your local drug store-- i recommend sublime bronze... its not hard to apply.

As far as choosing to wear pasties-- thats really not so much a personal choice as much as a regional thing. Usually pasties are only worn if local laws require it, and even then it is typically just latex over hte nipples so it barely looks like you are covering them. If you dont feel secure topless, then i would get something like nipple tassles or something so it looks like you have stuff on your boobs for fun/sexual reasons instead of hiding them... if you are working at a topless club it wont look good to wear pasties otherwise.

Ive worked at dives before, and your body is better than a lot of girls who work at dives. When i worked at a dive i worked with some fat girls who were not shapely, even a quite pregnant girl once. you will probably be surprised to find out that your body is better than most of theirs if you go to a low end club.

And as far as the money being worth it-- its going to be personality, sales skills, and regional dependent. It sounds like you have the correct personality, although you have to start being more confident (fake it if you dont feel confident). Now the region you have no control over, hopefully there will be a place for you to work there that is not totally dead.

    Good luck!
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

You can definitely do it. Just as the other girls said..work on the confidence. That's the most important part. Without confidence, it doesn't matter how beautiful someone is, they cannot make money. Good Luck!

Are you kidding? You're beautiful! You could work at a local, mid level club no problem.

I love the curve from your waist to your hips! Very beautiful and feminine. And you have a nice butt too. Go Strut your stuff!

    Good luck!

You look great! Honestly personality goes a long way, even in a strip club. If you have all the talents you've mentioned, you should have no problem selling dances. None of the top earners at my club are the prettiest, they just have the best people skills.

If you're really self conscious about your body, hit the gym and wear something more covering when you start, like a dress with some support in the bust and REALLY tall heels (they'll make your butt perkier and your legs skinnier). But really you look great, just give it a try!

You're being really hard on yourself, we all start some where, a club is a club, you can make money at any club you work in, once you start dancing you will notice a serious change in your shape, you look beautiful and you are only 21, your body will bounce back fast! I don't understand the stigma with high end and low end clubs. If it is a club, you will make money.
Sometimes big money guys like to lay low in what most call dives, they don't want the attention a big club brings, and you will get plenty of practice, screw the pasties!

Think of yourself like a picture, what are your favorite things about you and make those things your focal points, the things that guys will notice first.

Agreed with everyone else---who killed your confidence???

I think you're super pretty. Don't worry about working in a dive--there's damn good money to be made there (I would know!!!). I'd definitely start there to build your confidence, and probably stay there (no sense in working at a high fee nice club unless there aren't many customers in your dive).

    Good luck girly!!

Thumbs up In most cases, the customer is always right.

...My biggest setback is unfortunately the most important requirement - my body! I definitely did not enter this world with even the slightest genetic blessing* .... I‘m only 21 but it definitely shows. My breasts … My ass has ...cellulite, which never goes away no matter how heavy or thin I am. If I had the money, I would definitely invest in plastic surgery...

We are our own worst critics. I get complimented on my appearance all the time, and I can't even begin to care - I STILL only see only what's WRONG with me. Plus, I'm deeply engrossed in a bunch of self-absorbed negativity and circular logic, so I can't even be BOTHERED with compliments at this time... Seriously though, I can totally relate, but, let's be reasonable. Plastic surgery is not the answer, and can't do much for bone structure.

Sure, our bodies MAY be the most "obvious" part of our job, but they're certainly not the only or even MOST important thing we're selling. There's SO much more to dancing than just having an amazing body, taking your clothes off, shaking your booty, and having a pretty face. There's an exhausting MENTAL workout associated with this line of work, too. We call it "hustling."

With the exception of behaving inappropriately inside the strip club, in most other circumstances, “The customer is always right.” That's the driving force of customer service, which is something we ALSO provide as entertainers and we are well compensated for it.

Try not to get ahead of yourself. When you start thinking negatively, and finding all your faults, just tell yourself, "My opinion of myself doesn't matter,” and relax. Let the CUSTOMERS decide if your physical appearance is acceptable. That's why you're there - for THEIR pleasure, NOT your own.

Again, I'm hoping that you'll give me a brutally honest assessment of my situation. ...I’m looking more towards the low-end clubs.

IMO, aim high, but try to be reasonable, and don't be afraid to take what you can get and work your way into someplace better. You never know. A higher-end club might actually "want" your look, and hire you on the spot.

My question to you all is: Is it even worth it for me, given how little I might earn? How bad would my earnings likely be? ...Is there even a small possibility of me being hired at a low-end club? If you’ve ever worked at a lower-end club...

Okay, now you're just being silly! I promise you, it's really NOT that serious, girlfriend. :: hug :: Your body is FINE, any club should be glad to have you.

Don't ASSUME that you won't get hired. Don't ASSUME that you won't make any money. What if those things come true? Then what?! I mean, if you start out thinking like a loser, and you're moping around feeling and acting like a loser, wouldn't the next logical step be to become a loser?

Think positive! Good things WILL happen! Instead of assuming the worst, ASSUME that you're going to give a superb audition, and continue to ASSUME that you'll have your choice of clubs to work at, and definitely ASSUME that you'll be making so much money that it will be coming out of your ears!

I KNOW you'll be able to get hired somewhere. You're beautiful!Try to think of some positive, funny, or happy things to motivate you so you're not dragging all this negativity around with you while you're trying to get hired. People really pick up on that sort of thing.

Everyone here, including me, thinks you're beautiful. I think you should start dancing before you talk yourself out of it altogether. ::wink:: Quit playin', girlfriend - GO GET YOUR MONEY!

I KNOW you can do it! Someplace WILL hire you! You WILL make money! Customers WILL like you! You just have to believe in yourself. Even if you don't feel like you're “ALL THAT,” fake it, and KEEP right on faking it until you truly ARE “ALL THAT,” and then some!

    Good luck!

I have to agree 150% and more with Kimbre, forget all the bullshit from the
past, whatever was said to you growing up, any abusive comments from ex-boyfriends and what that evil little inner voice is telling you.

Look up the clubs in your area, and give them a call, ask when you can set up an audition. Make sure you have a nice pair of at least 6 inch platforms.
An outfit you feel sexy and comfortable in.

Then here is the kicker! GO AUDITION!!

I saw a girl who was 6 months pregnant on stage, does this bring it into perspective?

You look fine, because you have never danced, I suggested what I call practice clubs, coming out of retirement clubs, just go to a club.

Practice dancing slowly and sexy in the mirror to random songs that come on the radio, believe me Rob Zombie can be stripped to.

Go on youtube, check out the make up tutorials, learn how to put your make up on and well.

Your hair.. go buy a nice flat iron, also make sure you buy something to protect your hair from heat if you don't like it, a flat iron will do amazing things to the texture of your hair and you will be amazed.

When you go audition, make sure you are ready for stage if you feel odd in that much make up don't worry, it's just you not being use to being looked at, you will turn a lot of heads in your car driving to work ready for work.

If the first club tells you no, get back in the saddle and try somewhere else.

The reason some of us have been saying go to a lower end club is because you are brand new and you would be the best looking girl there. Just like a Geisha needs a tea house to practice her art, you need a club to practice yours. Any club will do, and any club will make you money.

Good luck, though you don't need it, I'll send you virtual courage

Awww honey. You're a hottie! You could definitely even work in an upscale club if you wanted too. Although a lot of girls benefit from starting somewhere less upscale to learn the ropes.

Seriously, there are some girls with FUCKED UP bodies who are still stripping. At my old club there were pregnant girls, fat chicks (I mean real fat chicks, not shapely size 13's), girls who were past their prime and clearly had years of drinking/chainsmoking under their belt, you name it. There were definitely a few girls with small saggy titties-and one of them was making $600 a night consistently because she was good at her job and didn't let negative aspects of her body get her down.

The thing that's really important is confidence and the way you talk to carry yourself and talk to customers. It sounds like you already have an understanding of how to seduce them and will do great at it, so now you just have to learn to feel confident in yourself and project this.

Stripper gear and the lighting in clubs will go a long way to help you with this. Most clubs have tons of blacklights which will make your skin look better and hide any cellulite that you might be worried about (although I couldn't see any in your pictures anyway). Stripper heels will do great things to your body too, they make everyone's lower half look better and stick out in the right places. And after maybe a month of dancing at most you will have ridiculously toned legs, ass, and abs from walking around in them. After a while you will start learning what outfits flatter your body and this will help too.

Just don't worry about what you think of yourself! Everyone else thinks you are hot so do your thang.

I think you are super hot. You don't need to tone anything up or change a thing. You will do fine.

I have seen some girls with some seriously messed up bodies make money. You have a great body and will not have any problems. Have you gone to a club to see what the other girls look like? You should go check it out. It will give you a self esteem boost to see REAL saggy titties, stretch marks, fat chicks, cellutlite and scars. You will realize it's all in your head.

You look amazing! But I know that us saying that doesn't necessarily change your view of yourself. So heres some info that I learned on my own.....club lights hide ALL flaws! Seriously, they REALLY do! I worked with a girl for a year, watched her on stage, was on stage with her, sat and talked to her plenty of times and I JUST found out she had a huge, bright red scar going up the front of her leg from her ankle to her groin from a car accident, she had a metal rod put in. She pointed it out to me and it's HUGE....on stage, never saw it.

At first I thought this was a troll, you are so down on yourself! But then I saw the pics and what struck me was the sad look on your face! You have a beautiful body, and with a little toning, would look amazing! I don't know how you wound up with such low self esteem, but that is what really needs the work. Your body is so beautiful, but I think you need to work on the self esteem before you begin, or dancing will just eat you alive. Men (and women) can be horrendously cruel if they sense a fragile soul.

How did you get to be so insecure about a body like that? <3

Aw, jeez... I really appreciate everyone’s responses. I definitely have a lot of self-esteem issues that I’ve carried around with me for a long time so your reassurance is really helpful to me. I tend to assume the worst about myself, especially when it comes to my physical appearance which is why I wanted to get your opinions before auditioning.

A few of you suggested that I need to fake self-confidence to do well at this and I think that’s really sound advice because showing your insecurity is not just a turn-off but it also leaves you vulnerable to people (men especially) who will exploit that when they see it. I’m going to start working out and toning up a bit so I’ll be slightly more confident when I do audition.

Thanks again, everyone. Seriously, you've all been enormously helpful.
I’ll post an update after auditioning.

OMG i can't believe you!! i thought you were going to look pretty jacked up and then I see those pics! You are soooo pretty!! You're face reminds me of Kristen Stewart (that's the girl's name from Twilight right??). You're body looks fine and the club lights will make you look even better. I would start working out, just to build confidence, but you don't need any improvements. your face is what really caught me eyes and I don't care how hot your body is, if you're ugly you're ugly, and you're definitely not!
