Seriously though, I can totally relate, but, let's be reasonable. Plastic surgery is not the answer, and can't do much for bone structure.
Sure, our bodies MAY be the most "obvious" part of our job, but they're certainly not the only or even MOST important thing we're selling. There's SO much more to dancing than just having an amazing body, taking your clothes off, shaking your booty, and having a pretty face. There's an exhausting MENTAL workout associated with this line of work, too. We call it "hustling."
With the exception of behaving inappropriately inside the strip club, in most other circumstances, “The customer is always right.” That's the driving force of customer service, which is something we ALSO provide as entertainers and we are well compensated for it.
Try not to get ahead of yourself. When you start thinking negatively, and finding all your faults, just tell yourself, "My opinion of myself doesn't matter,” and relax. Let the CUSTOMERS decide if your physical appearance is acceptable. That's why you're there - for THEIR pleasure, NOT your own.
IMO, aim high, but try to be reasonable, and don't be afraid to take what you can get and work your way into someplace better. You never know. A higher-end club might actually "want" your look, and hire you on the spot.
Okay, now you're just being silly! I promise you, it's really NOT that serious, girlfriend. :: hug :: Your body is FINE, any club should be glad to have you.
Don't ASSUME that you won't get hired. Don't ASSUME that you won't make any money. What if those things come true? Then what?! I mean, if you start out thinking like a loser, and you're moping around feeling and acting like a loser, wouldn't the next logical step be to become a loser?
Think positive! Good things WILL happen! Instead of assuming the worst, ASSUME that you're going to give a superb audition, and continue to ASSUME that you'll have your choice of clubs to work at, and definitely ASSUME that you'll be making so much money that it will be coming out of your ears!
I KNOW you'll be able to get hired somewhere. You're beautiful!Try to think of some positive, funny, or happy things to motivate you so you're not dragging all this negativity around with you while you're trying to get hired. People really pick up on that sort of thing.
Everyone here, including me, thinks you're beautiful. I think you should start dancing before you talk yourself out of it altogether. ::wink:: Quit playin', girlfriend - GO GET YOUR MONEY!
I KNOW you can do it! Someplace WILL hire you! You WILL make money! Customers WILL like you! You just have to believe in yourself. Even if you don't feel like you're “ALL THAT,” fake it, and KEEP right on faking it until you truly ARE “ALL THAT,” and then some!
Good luck!
