Default VERY basic dance bag essentials.

I am pretty much the queen of over packing. I just got hired at a new club today, and start tomorrow. Heres the thing: I have to take public transit to work. This means I need to travel a whole lot lighter than I would if I was taking a cab.
    heres my list so far:
    - baby wipes
    - t-backs
    - 1pr shoes
    - 5 dresses
    - 2 skirt sets
    - 3 shorts sets
    - very basic makeup( I don't wear much)
    - hand sanitizer
    - body spray

I feel like I'm forgetting something. Help! Can you think of anything?

I always bring an extra pair of shoes just in case
something happened to the original pair & they broke.

The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

yeah I don't think you need all those dresses either. I usually decide before I go 2 work what I want to wear so I don't have to travel with too much stuff. but of course bring extra if you know you like to change a lot and at least one in case something happens.

also, do you have a housemom? do you know what she provides? mine always has baby wipes, lotion, mouth wash & mints and other small things so i don't bring those and it saves a lot of bag space

Can't you get a locker so you don't have to lug this stuff all the time?

If you work at a club with a lot of stages or a short rotation, then I don't see the necessity for any more than 3, maybe 4 outfits per shift.

    Other than that...

    Pad or Combo lock
    Body Spray
    Basic makeup for touchups
    Baby Wipes
    Mint/Gum
Dental Floss (never know what will get stuck in your teeth after lunch)
    Ibuprofen
    ID/License

Also, while not maybe mandatory for everyone, I'd say Pepper Spray is a must-have for walking out to your car after your shift is up.

no, there isn't, but I wish there was one. I'm also extremely lucky that I got a locker. I got the very last one that wasn't broken. All the rest are taken.

while I wish there was a house mom, its not really a big deal that there isn't. I'm used to going to work with all my supplies, and since I don't wear much makeup, it doesn't weigh alot or take up much space. Stuff like mints & dental floss are something that is already in my purse anyway, so its not a big deal.

Yeah, the club I'll be applying to does NOT have a housemom. Luckily I've heard the girls are very supportive and help each other out. Either way, do NOT rely on someone else to make your ability to make money happen. Gotta be self reliant when it comes to your business. Thanks for all the advice posts! Can't wait to pack my bag.

Too many outfits. Bring your toothbursh and travel toothpaste, I personally don't find anything grosser than gum. Hair appliances too for sure.

A stun gun. (But I work in LA). But if you are using public transit and traveling at night, it's not a bad idea.

(Oh and as another poster said, less dresses).

i used to be a freak and take like a huge holiday case with about ten diff outfits in it, my entire makeup collection, flask of tea, sandwiches, and god knows what else lol, but it was full!

now im really basic, so basic my mate takes the mick saying i should really have a second outfit incase of accidents or anything else that occurs to clothes in a strip club, ie, guys takin knickers which i spose is good advise, i just never take it lol.

my bag is a small luggage bag on wheels.
    contains.
    1. body spray (perfume gets on my throat, and prob custys throats too sumtimes)
    2. deodrant
    3. 1 out fit in plastic food bag (1 g-string, 1 top, 1 pair stockings, 1 pair leg warmers, 1 lace glove)
    4. 1 pair of shoes
    5. make-up i am wearing on the night.
    6. lately a silk dressing gown for warmth.
    7. hairspray
    8. hand sanitiser.
    9. pair of scissors.
    10. couple extra food bags. (dunno why)
    11. baby wipes.
    12. tampons when needed.

in the club i have a clutch purse which holds my
    1. phone, (cheap phone just for work)
    2. chewing gum supplyed by a mate (im always asking her for gum so she gives me a pack
    now lol)
    3. change for drinks at bar (non-alcoholic, dont drink, period)
    4. my dance tickets.
    5. lipgloss

and thats it, sounds alot when written down, but looks like nothin in my bag lol.

I usually wake up an hour early to do my hair and makeup at home, and pack my wallet, powder compact and eyeliner with me in my purse. I also carry a "cash bag" to put all my earnings into.

I bring a backpack with shoes, 2 t-backs, a couple outfits and my shoes. I use to hoard so much more, and I always see girls with train cases of makeup and suitcases of almost every dancing outfit they own!

My advice- pack for that day. Decide what you wanna wear that day and bring that, leave the rest at home.

I used to be horrendous for overpacking. Used to take pretty much every outfit I owned cos I normally get bored halfway through the night and get changed.

Then I moved back in with my parents for a while and had to hide dancing - so i just left a pair of heels at work and snuck the smallest outfit I could carry in a handbag

Still better than the girls that left one dress in work and wore it day in day out without washing
