Default What's up with the "leg clamping"?

I hate it when I start dancing for a guy and he wraps his legs tight around mine so I kinda of can't move. Sort of squeezes around my ankles/longer legs. WTF? I've noticed that it's usually the highly annoying customers who do this. What is the point? Do any of you do customers do this? Any reasoning behind it? Any dancers come across this a lot as well or is it just me? Today I had a guy keep doing it despite my very obvious struggle to push his legs apart repeatedly. I finally told him to spread them, but he clenched up again in another few minutes. What gives?

Hmm. I wonder this myself. I suspect I may be crunching his nuts (oops), he may be trying to cum, or perhaps he's just holding in a fart.

WTF? I've never even heard of this. It reduces access to one's crotch. If I'm perving out I'm doing the opposite; open the legs wide for easy access. Maybe you're hurting him? Maybe he's about to ejaculate in his pants and he's trying to hold out by reducing contact and clapming his legs? I don't know. This is just weird. It's like a customer telling you to put your top back on.

I'm going with josie - holding in a fart! lol

no chance I'm hurting him. The guys I'm talking about do this the SECOND you start dancing. Like, as SOON as I stand up and get between his legs CLAMP so I can't move.

That's exactly what I was thinking. He probably wants you dancing right on top of him.

Yes, in that "fun for the customer but really annoying for the dancer" kind of way...

Exactly. I've never heard my favs complain about this particular move but there are other things guys try to do to get a dancer to stay on their lap once they are down there. Anything that involves restricting a girl's movement, aside from being stupid and rude, is generally not going to get you a better dance.

I bet they do it because they anticipate the dancer walking away from them due to their annoyingness/rudeness (trial and error).

I've never heard of this or seen it. It sounds really lame & stupid, since (theoretically) legs spread wide invites more contact from the dancer.

It is indeed all about control. I know a couple of guys that do this and that is what they say anyway. Personally i think its stupid, but whatever..different strokes for different folks.

I hate this. I won't tolerate any motion with a guy that's a show of dominance. I assert myself over them, no questions asked. I've had little "body language fights" with customers. It's really odd.

When I get a guy doing this, it follows with my 3 strikes rule. I tell them to stop nicely. If they do it again, their knees get smacked and they're told harshly not to do it again, and I'll dance away from them for a minute to get the point across. If it happens again, I stop the dance and yell at them.

If they ask/beg me to finish the dance, I will - but as far away from them as I can get. If they reach for me again, they get reported to the bouncers and removed from the club for being unwilling to follow rules.

That's what a friend of mine at work told me. If so, what a douchey controlling thing to do.

I've had this happen to me many, many times in the years that I've been dancing. They are trying to get you to fall on them/get really close.

TO ALL CUSTOMERS ON THIS THREAD WHO THINK THIS IS A GOOD IDEA OR FUNNY: IT CAN SPRAIN MY ANKLES OR OTHERWISE CAUSE MAJOR PHYSICAL HARM TO ME.

    DON'T FUCKING DO IT.

It can seriously injure a dancer. You're not remembering that we are stilted on anything from a five to a eight inch heel. This throws our center of gravity off. I know that you think you know this, so you try to throw us off balance on purpose; but it really can cause damage and it is a surefire way to get me to back up and not get even as close as I normally would.

You also get an interrupted dance..I have a flow, and a rythym; and by doing this you are messing with that and ruining your experience with me. You will have basically wasted your money by going for the quick shot when you could have gotten a much better dance by not fucking with my balance in the first place. Duh.

Customers don't realize that the laws are starting to be more enforced - slowly but surely. I can bet you that in five to ten years; the contact you normally get in some places in the US is going to be a thing of the past, and when you try and pull a trick like this on a girl who is attempting to NOT GET ARRESTED; you are gonna be in some trouble too..and not able to get dances from those you want to get them from.

Sure, there will always be assholes..but in this economy, I would think guys would want to get their money's worth..not blow their load 30 seconds into the dance; figuratively speaking (or not, lol!).

I have guys do this and it really pisses me off. I actually have fallen on a guy before and he got an elbow in the face (on accident, of course!)

I don't like feeling like I am trapped in a situation, so I have no tolerance for this. I'll usually grab their knees or ankles and separate them. If that doesn't work, or they do it again, I kick them to get them to separate them. I can put up with a lot of shit in dances but this I will not.

I don't know why they do it but it's so FUCKING annoying. Whenever a guy does that I spread their legs, literally get down on my knees and plant their feet far apart. If they do it again I squeeze the pressure point on the inside of their thigh above their knee (kind of the place that makes you laugh when you squeeze it ) REALLY hard, that usually gets them to stop. If they keep doing it I sit on their lap and threaten them that if they don't stop the dance is over and the money is owed NOW.

    stupid men.

Do they clamp their legs around one or both of your legs? I wanted to try this yesterday but I just couldn't get it right since I'm a little slow moving.

Really? You honestly want to try something that every girl on here has stated she has a problem with? I'm guessing you're one of those guys that gets off on being incredibly difficult/irritating people for "fun". Which, is childish at best. Let me guess.. you also say a whole lot of offensive bullshit under the guise of being "honest".

you've already been told in this thread:

    we don't think it's funny
    it's annoying
    it's possibly dangerous to us
    it ruins our flow

So, the only conclusion I can draw to you understanding that and STILL wanting to attempt it, is that you're an asshole. Which kinda sucks because I always thought you were one of the nicer guys on blue.

It's a control thing, and in my air dance club, it's a way of them getting to touch us. Some of them probably want to see if we'll react negatively. They're trying to get a rise out of us.

I will be honest. I admit that in times past I leg clamped several unsuspecting dancers. Looking back and reflecting, I now understand that my behavior was disgusting. I feel remorse and understand that I did wrong. Therefore, I make this solemn pledge here for all to see. I will never do it again. No matter that temptation of your nubile bodies moving about on my most sensitive regions will be difficult to ignore. I pledge to keep my legs apart at a minimum of 120 degrees
