    Default Travel and safety woes

I don't know how to get to and from a strip club. I have a pink beetle convertible with a custom license plate that stands out EVERYWHERE, so it will definitely not be safe to have at a strip club every night.

Do any of you ladies take a bus or a taxi? Something about it just doesn't seem safe to me, I'd so much rather be locked up in my own car until I get to pull into my own garage.

I've been looking into stripping for years and years, but this has definitely been one of the biggest issues for me. I was raped about a year ago when I was leaving work (in a mall parking lot that was hardly empty) in the dark and I am incredibly jumpy walking around at night by myself now.

    Advice?

You'll probably still be safer in your own car. Just find a club that has security to walk you to your car (common). Also make sure you always have plenty of gas in your car tank so you don't get stuck somewhere.

You could also car pool in with someone.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I agree. Alot of girls I know take cabs, but half of the cabbies are total scums and will try to come onto you one way or another. So yes, you are much safer in your car. Most clubs (if not all) have security and they walk you to your car no matter what. Also, I would suggest carrying some mace with you at all times, day and night.

You do have to be careful, i one time had a problem because I dont live in New Jersey, but my car had Jersey plates and I am from new jersey and have a tattoo of new jersey, so one customer put the info together and figured out what my car was... the customer wasnt violent but like waited by my car and like followed me until i was in the car trying to talk to me until i drove off quickly. this was at a dive though, they hired cops as bouncer and this one particular cop would never walk me to my car... this was the second time that i had problems getting safely to my car due to customer problems. so you do have to take care.

however, if your car doesnt specifically connect to you, then you should be fine. If you talk about cars with customers, say you drive a BMW instead of a volkswagon, say your car is black instead of pink etc. Also, you said you have a custom liscnse plate, if its not anything stupid like your stage name then you should be set. if it is something that could help someone guess was YOUR car instead of a random strippers car, then i would change the plates. Have security always walk you back and forth. A lot of places also have parking for employees and dancers seperate from customer parking. Also, hopefully security is careful enough to make customers leave before you guys do, so you dont have anyone seeing the bright pink car going "well obviously some stripper drives that so ill follow her."

On the drive home, Keep slight attention if you notice a car seems to be following you... if this ever happens, pull into a police station (make sure you know where the police stations are on your ride home). This will stop a car from following you usually. If it persists, then call the cops.

If you live close to the club taking a taxi is not a bad idea, although i recommend getting a regular driver who you know wont be a scumbag. cabbies are like us, they dont mind accumulating regular clients, especially if they tip well. if you live far out though, it will probably be too pricey to take a cab though.

NEVER take a bus on the way home from work though. This is very dangerous! riding a bus at 3am with stripper makeup and hair on and with people who may have been at the club a really terrible idea.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

You could always change your plates (not that hard to do), or even change the color of your car. I know that sounds extreme, but I agree that you have a right to be worried about it. For now, I also think driving your own car is better than taking a cab. Try not to stop anywhere too close to work on your way in or on your way out. I guess if you were really worried you could leave with a wig on and take it off once you were in your car and far from the club??

I did have a guy try to follow me home one time, and I figured that out by varying my speed. If you go slow enough, it's really weird for another car to go that slow to stay behind you. We ended up having it out on in the middle of the street (I just stopped my car and got out because I was so pissed and knew we were in full view in the middle of the street), but if that ever happened again, I'd drive right into a police station. Do a quick Google search and figure out where the nearest police stations are for your route home.

I'm not sure taxis or buses are the safest option either, I'd rather not have to wait around for a ride or make stops along the way to get home when the night's over. Those are things you don't have to worry about when you're doing your own driving.

Are you able to invest in a "work car?" Perhaps one that isn't so easy to recognize? Of course it'd be reliable, safe, and able to get you to and from work with no trouble. But you know, just something a little more... non-descript.

Also, I'm with the others here who have suggested having club security walk you to your vehicle at the end of the night. Many clubs are more than happy to have security staff available for this reason, it's definitely something to take advantage of.

    Good luck.

Is it a possibility to either borrow a car from a relative or SO, or rent one? Depending on what city you're in and when you do it, you can rent for as little as $15 a day.

I agree with Kimbre. If it's financially possible, buy a work car.

I feel your pain. I drive a very identifiable car, and had someone follow me outside of the club last night. Scared the sh*t out of me. Invest in mace and possibly a taser. Also, if you can stay awake, stay in the club until later (I use the time to organize my bag and take my makeup off) and for sure have security walk you to your car.

Although, this also scares me: http://ezinearticles.com/?License-Pl...line&id=478904

I've also had my phone number traced and they found me on facebook that way. If you keep in contact with customers by phone, ALWAYS use a pre-paid cell and pay with cash.

I would definalty not take a bus or a cab. To me those dont seem safe. I would just take your own car. I am not sure what to say about when you first get to work.. Maybe park towards the front or entrance..? But any club I have worked in has always made sure that the bouncer walk you out to your car at the end of your shift.. If it is at the end of the night they even wait to clear the parking lot before walking each girl individually out. Is this not common for all clubs?

^ I would hope so, but I've heard of the lots being full of customers and bouncers refusing or not being obligated to walk you out. Can't rely on someone else to keep your car from being identified. :/

A cab is the only way I feel safe going home from work. I would never take a city bus, and I'd be really hesitant to drive a very recognizable car too.

I would just go start with your car. Then .... if you feel it's risky , have a friend drop you and cab it back or something. No one will notice your car for a few days to start out.
