Default Burnout vs. Time to Switch Clubs

How can you tell the difference?

    My Symptoms

-Extreme dread of going into work to the point where I go 1-2 times every two weeks despite major financial worries

    yet

    -Enthusiastic about dancing

    -buy new outfits

-Workout and even get all ready for work but don't end up going in.

    Why I dread working:

    1. Guys are so grabby and it's like a sardine can (packed to the brim with guys)

    2. Guys treat you like shit more often than like a queen.

    3. Guys will routinely grab your boob while you are just talking to them trying to make a sale; when you act the slightest bit put off they get insulted or throw you out of their group.

    4. Touching is encouraged; girls sit on laps prior to making a sale, men almost always fondle their ass or stick their hand in between their legs (not crotch but close)

    5. I am often told by men I need to loosen up "this is Vegas" so I have to drink 2-3
drinks to force myself to accept their groping.

This club is ironic because technically it is the best club to work at and has a reputation for being the hardest to get hired at BUT it's HANDS DOWN the highest milege. It's like some dude's perverted fantasy come to life where hot girls choose to be fondled!
The reason I have stuck there is because once you force yourself to do all of the above you will not leave with less than $500 and since I can only make myself go in a few times a month this is significant.

So is this burnout or do I need to switch clubs?

Switch clubs, or cities. My club has high mileage but there's no groping on the floor. And if you can't deal with the club being dirty, then you need to switch to a cleaner one.

I don't think it's either: I think it's assault. If you don't want anyone touching you, you shouldn't put up with it (no matter your financial difficulties).

If you managed to get hired in your upper tier club, then you can get hired elsewhwere. You might make less money per night at lower mileage clubs, but you'll work more often--> more money for you.

You should never compromise your boundaries in this business. You might make money because of it, but you know exactly what you'll lose in the process.

I'm sorry you've had to deal with this.

Sounds like how I felt when I worked at that club.

And as for your answer, well- you see what I did.

Definitely sounds like a "switch clubs" sort of deal. I got that way working at the club before my current one. I was still, for all intents and purposes, completely in love with dancing.

I'd work out, get ready, talk enthusiastically with friends about being a dancer, and get all done up for work, but when the time came to actually walk out the door ... well, let's just say I only made it in about 25% of the time.

Try a new club for sure.

Thanks to everyone for your responses; after I read the reactions to my post (especially Charlie's) I sorta realized I've done myself a total disservice. I guess I have taken on a kinda "battered wife mentality" with the staying in this place because I can't do any better; not realizing that in the meantime it was doing me so much harm. I grabbed all the stuff out of my locker the other day so here goes...

I feel your pain, but I've been trying a new technique for myself and it's working for me so far and maybe it'll work for you as well. I find that I was pressuring myself too hard and therefore I burnt out so easily. I keep it positive and try to get good customers(business dudes wearing suits) that will be nice to me. I avoid customers with negative vibes where I know I won't be able to give him what he wants and vice versa. I try to set my goal money wise low, but I still hustle. Slow hustle nowadays work. and honestly I'm making the same money when you average my monthly income but with way less stress. Before I made a bunch in one night and felt like shit so I took lots of days off in between. now I work more consistantly and not feeling shitty. Some other suggestions like mentioned is to switch city or move to another club with lower fees so you won't have so much pressure money wise. Good luck girl!

I like your technique because it involves a change in the way I've been thinking. Yeah I definitely have been trying to pressure myself into just dealing with the horrible environment. I'm going to switch clubs I just hope I haven't permanently burned myself out

I have all those symptoms right now.
But I love the club I work at. I love the management/DJs/dancers/everyone except the customers. And it's been so incredibly slow lately.
I would switch clubs in a heartbeat if I didn't feel like I hit the jackpot with coworkers.
