Default stage name and feel free to critique me

I lost my full time job recently but I saw this coming for about a year and I have been planning to become a dancer until my full time job starts again in april...anyways I have been preparing by doing my research and losing 10 lbs buying the clothes, shoes and taking pole dancing lessons.

I'm resarching clubs in the philly and philly suburb area...if you have any recommendations I'd really really appreciate it! I'm thinking about Club Risque in the northeast or bristol, Cheerleaders, club onyx, scruples at oakford inn, the penthouse etc... I really need help with a stage name!
    I have come up with
    1. Jeannine
    2. Christine or Krista
    3. Holly
    4. Alexis
    5. Ivy
    6. Scarlett
    7. any other suggestions...?

I like Christine or Krista for you.

Although, you look like a girl I used to work with named Candy.

Based on your Username and rank of names you already like Jeannine the most. I'd say go with that, more realistic and not overly sexual.

Krista, and not to be a total jerk but hit the gym a few times before you audition.

This is coming with love from a girl who has been dancing almost eight years.

Jeannine I think you look gorgeous. I'm not familiar with the area you're going to be working in, but, all I can say is, different strokes - there's TONNES of people who love your figure. I guess it depends if the person who is auditioning you does though, which sucks.

But anyway, name: three-syllable names, DJ's always stuff them up..don't go with Alexis. People will be calling you 'lexi', 'alex'...god knows what else. I like Ivy, I think it's really original, and Scarlett if you're always going to be rocking the black lingere, hair out, goth-inspired but very approachable look. Jeannine is also nice, but lik firewall said, it's not overly sexual, I suppose if you're looking for an understated, not-cliched and approachable name then that is the best.

I kinda like Ivy, but I don't know that that's the best name for you. It's just one of those names you don't see AS often (at least where I live). Ivy is the sort of name that could be sweet or naughty.

There's nothing terribly wrong with your silhouette; I know you said in your OP that you're working on it. That's a good thing. You're taking pole dancing lessons, which is a tremendous help, too. You're going to lose, firm, tone and sculpt everything anyway when you start dancing regularly, regardless. We already know that men like all different "denominations" of women, and enjoy variety in their "girl watching" endeavors. However, I feel it's important for ALL dancers who are just starting out to know that part of working with what you have is knowing how to package it.

That said, the only other thing I'd like to mention here is that you should select pieces to wear which creates a VERTICAL line, instead of several short horizontal lines, and "chevrons," which can be like arrows and point to things you don't want the eye to focus or linger on. I'm thinking, like, one piece mini-dresses, one piece gowns, long duster jackets (over shorts, rompers, or t-bars), would all be very HOTT for you and your shape. Maybe you could start saving up to buy a few things like these.

    Good luck!

I ordered a pole for my house and Im still waiting for it. Lessons once or twice a week isnt helping me lose the blubber very quickly. oh and Jeannine is actually my middle name and it seemed harmless to make it my username but its not necessarily my favorite...

I don't think I will audition anywhere for another month, i dont know if that is enough time to lose 12 lbs at least

As far as the name I like Alexis or Ivy. Not all strippers have to be really skinny. Alot of guys like thicker girls. I would try a different outfit though that doesnt squeeze you too much. Dresses, skirts instead of shorts, one of my favorites is a corset and garter with stockings.

Eh, I have a three syllable name, and my DJs don't ever screw it up, but two out of three always spell it wrong. However guys do always ask if I ever go by Cat, Catie or Cathy. I'm like jesus guys, if I wanted you to call me that, I'd have said that. ( My stage name is Catherine- not Katherine, or Kathryn, or Cathren, god damn it!)

You have an awesome look! I've always loved ginger hair, and it looks great with your dark style.

I think Holly or Ivy would be a great stage name for you. Krista would work well too.

I definitely have to agree that you need to lose another 10-15 pounds and hit the gym if you don't already, but you could get hired right now at a decent number of clubs. Philly guys tend to like girls with some weight on them. I wouldn't recommend Onyx-it's a black club so unless you can do advanced pole and booty tricks and have enough sass to handle that kind of environment you would probably end up quitting after a day or two. If you're comfortable working nude I would definitely highly recommend Daydreams in the northeast, they're very accepting of the goth look as well as less-than-perfect figures and management is awesome. The two Risque branches you mentioned would be a good bet too. Cheerleaders is supposed to be good money but is super high-contact from what I've heard (never worked there for this reason)

Kimbre gave some great tips about costuming.

One thing I would like to warn you about is that Philly area clubs are high-contact. Customers can touch you all over and Philly customers are very handsy! Boobie grabbing is the norm at every club except Daydreams. I'm not saying this is a bad thing as every dancer has different comfort zones, but it's something you should be made aware of before you start just in case you weren't already.

I have some extra free time so I went and found some pieces you might like which could work well for you in a club. I like the look of this:

How tall are you? because 127 sounds pretty reasonable..

Thumbs up Re: stage name and feel free to critique me

Lola, your links were absolutely perfect! I loved all the rompers (or teddy variations) you included for Jeannine. I thought they'd all look fabulous on her, and work well with other pieces she may already have in her wardrobe.

    This one is my favorite.

I have to say that the long sheer black duster with the feather boa trim was an excellent choice and can be fun to wear. That's exactly what I had in mind for her to think about purchasing... Thanks for those.

And just so you know, Jeannine, I also think you could go ahead and start working at your earliest convenience. I'm not saying forget about your ideal weight, or anything. I just think that if you're confident enough to get your hustle on, why wait? Either way you're going to lose some weight... You may as well be getting paid to do so.

By the way, congratulations on your new pole! What kind did you get?

There's a difference in being short and 127 and in shape, and being 127 and not in shape.

Tone is always a good thing. Glad you have a realistic mindset about wanting to be healthy, OP. It'll all pay off (monetarily!) in the end!

Though, to be fair, I think we've all seen much, much, much worse on stage. I know I have.
