    Default Private party basics

Ok someone I know is throwing a private party and they want me to dance. well I never danced before and I dont know what the private parties are like. how does it go and how does it differ from dancing in a club? What should I expect and what should I keep my eyes open for?

    1. Bring security with you... just in case.

    2. Don't bring anything super expensive - things happen. In other words fancy costumes etc should stay home so beer doesn't get spilled on them or the costume pieces don't go "missing".

    3. Ask for a set amount up front and make sure it gets paid to you before the party starts. That way the host can't try to hold out on you because they expected something more wild, or it turns out they don't have cash. You should also set it high enough so you won't be disappointed if it turns out the group is a bunch of slackers in the tipping department.

    4. Figure out how long you are going to be at the venue. Most of the time it's 30mins to an hour. Plan out what you are going to do and for how long and have your security person help keep you on track. You'll probably do an introduction dance, a hot seat dance for the guest of honor, a few games, and private dances.

    5. If you are comfortable with it consider having another dancer go to the party with you. You can do a two girl show and double lap dances.

Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

Not necessarily. Some people have that idea and I would say a lot of private party dancers get more rowdy than what's allowed in the clubs, but party goers should never expect anything that isn't 100% legal. If they do... well that's why you got your money upfront - so you can leave.

I have never done any extras (except the whipped cream shots, which really aren't extras). The best way to deal with this is to be honest upfront. When someone would book a show I'd tell them no form of sex such as hj's, bj's, fs, etc. Sure it lost me a few jobs, but if it turned them off, they were someone I didn't want to dance for. For the most part it made no difference.

wow great advice! I have been asked to do a few private parties but I was honestly too nervous and was not sure what to expect so I just turned them down.
