    Question Revision rhinoplasty

About 5 years ago I had my nose done. I only had the bump on my bridge shaved down and the tip refined. Well, there are some aspects of it that I am not happy with at all (a bit too narrow, asymmetrical, etc). I'm considering going for a revision...have any of you had this done?

Also, my last surgeon was certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, but was not certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Can any of you provide me with further information on this?

And, can anyone recommend an excellent surgeon in the Philadelphia area?

    Thanks, ladies!

Funny that i come across this thread... 3 years ago I had reconstructive rhinoplasty and septoplasty done due to breaking my nose a couple of times when i was young (in sports). This month I am going back for a revision for asymmetry. I've put this off a long time due to the week of packing, mouth breathing hell lol.. Although i have been told there may not be packing this time.
Unfortunately I'm not from your area so I can't help recommendations of plastic surgeons, but I will tell you if there is anything different about it or noteworthy this time. I go for post op on the 5th and surgery on the 12th. I will keep you updated, maybe there will be some info i can share that will be valuable to you =)

    Good luck with the surgery!

I scheduled a consult with the doctor who did my breast aug. The thing I like about him is that he's really straightforward, and would be honest about the kind of results I could expect. I couldn't get in to see him until mid-February, so I have a while to wait.

Please see a revision specialist; I hope this doctor you're seeing will be honest enough to REFER you out to one.

Most of the revision specialists that I've been able to find have not been board certified plastic surgeons, but simply cosmetic surgeons.

I am in day 3 after my revision rhinoplasty (had it tuesday morning). My doctor told me rhinoplasty the second time will cause more bruising, swelling and pain, and I have noticed, i also have a black eye this time (cool!!! lol). Good point is that I only had packing on one side for one day.
IMO, i think it would be important to go to the plastic surgeon who did the original surgery or someone who specializes in revisions. My plastic surgeon does a lot of revisions and reconstructive plastic surgeries.. But I know certain situations may prevent that.

    Keep us updated! =)
