I had to watch this twice. The poor main 'stripper' Tangere? Tankerae? Is wildly incompetent, and her stripper friends are, too! Bahaha it's funny because Stan ends up participating in ladies night. I hope this isn't what most people really think stripper are like. She even had the 'no attention from daddy' complex built in.

I love seth macfarlanes comedy... but he's done tons of bits about strippers and they are ALL like that.

On family guy after a huge bit on strippers peter does a "psa" at the end where he says they don't actually condone killing strippers, then he says "besides, there's no point.... because they're already dead inside"


and on another episode there's this exchange:
Lois: Peter did you take Stewie to a strip club? he smells like Sweat and fear.
Stewie: Ughh let me tell you Tuesday afternoon is not exactly their "A" squad, I actually saw bullet wounds.


I work dayshift, by choice, so you can imagine that I could see that as offensive. But, eh, whatever... it's just comedy.

Yeah. That and Stan calling them 'scum of the earth' and such. It's just knocking around a profession that, to the general public, is knock-able. Maybe he got burned by a Stripper?

Did anyone see the show Aqua Teen Hunger Force making fun of strippers trying other professions? They call a plumber and a smoking hot chick shows up dumber then dirt. Suddenly starts dancing when there's music but is TOO stupid to do anything. Someone watch it and tell me if I'm just sensitive cuz I hated it. Sitting in a room full of laughing dudes probably added to me feeling defensive about it. About us..

I hate Family Guy and anything else along that strain. I just can't handle all the vitriol against women in general. Not to mention it's just not very good comedic writing, imo.

The thing about Family Guy you have to keep in mind...they deliberately make fun of things that are STUPID to make fun of. To show how stupid is is to make fun of shit like that. Same with South Park.

So there are outrageous racist, sexist type jokes, religious jokes (ever seen Family Guys " I need a Jew" song? seriously...youtube it...funny as fuck!)..everything.

The POINT is that people who make fun of this stuff are STUPID and LOOK stupid doing it on the show. (note that Stan becomes a TOTAL ULTIMATE PL in that episode...complete Captain Save a Ho!!)

If you look at it like that...its REALLY funny and not offensive at all.

Is this the episode where Roger is a stripper? I thought it was fucking funny. I love Family Guy and pretty much anything with Seth McFarlane. I think maybe some are a *bit* too sensitive. Nothing is off limits on Family Guy/American Dad, blacks, mexicans, 'rednecks', fat people, christians, religion, EVERYBODY is poked fun of, including strippers. I think its just being funny and they know not all strippers have had horrible upbringings, or are 'dead inside,' just as they know black people do not subscribe to "Grape Soda Weekly." This was once said on a Christmas episode of Family Guy:

Peter says something about Jesus coming back to life as a zombie to eat brains for X-mas in front of a crowd on Family Guy. A guy watching Peter says something like:

Guy: "OMG! He can't say that! Thats blasphemy! I have to do something!"

His friend says calmly, "John, there is nothing you can do."

Guy: "Oh well, you're right, there is nothing I can do. I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor."

I like South Park. I just don't like Family Guy. I don't think they do satire well, personally. It's not that I don't have a sense of humour or that I'm too sensitive. I just don't think they do comedy well.

So when another show/comedian does a joke against, say, women I can see the humour in it. With Family Guy I can't.

and i don't think this was really negative about strippers. in the end i thought it was cute too how she wanted to get into Playboy for her short story writing rather than her body.

you do have to take these shows and realize they are making fun of stereotypes, not promoting them or condoning them.

i don't think she has a complex, was just pointing out that it is nice for parents to show they care and hailey should be grateful.

Haha! I am barely 18 so I'd never understand the liquor reference, thanks. Well, she got depressed and said 'my dad never took interest in me.' to me that was just Seth's way of saying 'strippers have mommy/daddy issues'.

I was always told that that's one of the ways to get pink-eye, not from a stripper specifically but from wiping your ass and not washing your hands. Maybe that's all it meant?

In the movie, they go to a strip club and one of the guys is getting a dance where the girl has his face buried in her ass.
