Default he is taking me shopping tomorrow

so he has a lot of money and gives me a lot of money. but i dont want to be offensive tomorrow and pick something too expensive as that would just seem rude.

if i went for something that is around the same price as the money he usually spends when he sees me would that be acceptable??

So take him in the general direction of what you want to buy, then say "I can't make my mind up. Can you help me chose?"

You'll get some general clues on the price range he has in mind by what he picks out for you.

And once you know price range, you can steer him into buying what you want. I would just suggest giving him a lot of input into what you buy, cos then he'll think you value his opinion.

As a PS: remember us guys shop slightly differently to women - we're more logical (and quick) and you're more impulsive (and long-winded). You need to strike a balance between a woman's shopping habits and a man's boredom threshold.

I already know the shop I want to go to. I know he won't want to be in there for an hour hehe. It's sort of an embarrassing situation. I'm so used to taking money from customers but it's always up to them how much they spend. That's why choosing a gift (it's for my Christmas present) is a bit more difficult.
    Thanks for your input!!

Then maybe start out pointing out something with a slightly lower price than you'd ultimately like?

It's easier for a guy to say "come on, you're worth more than that" than to say "that's more than I wanted to spend".

I'm not saying that you should try to take advantage of the guy but honestly, this was his idea. Part of the reason that guys offer to take dancers shopping is because they want OTC time. Again, not saying that you should rip him off but just keep in mind that even though you are getting a gift he is getting something as well.

Pick two or three things that you really like.......screw the price....just what you like. Then ask him to decide which one. I wouldnt look at the tags. Cost shouldnt be a factor in what you pick. Some of my favorite gifts throughout the year cost little to nothing.

Thank you...excellent closure on the thread How about some details if you don't mind, jaizaine? Did you have to beat around the bush while shopping? Did he pretty much say the sky was the limit and pick out want you want? Seriously, it would be interesting to know.

    yay
well i picked him up from his hotel and took him straight to Miss Louise. I told him the shoes were expensive there and he said that's fine. Then when we got there he said he is not used to doing shopping so I tried to be really quick coz I knew he felt uncomfortable.

I looked at the sale items but didn't like anything and then I spotted them!! They were $1590AU We pay ridiculous prices for designer anything here unfortunately.

Then he had a shocked look on his face when he saw the price so I said no it's too much to the shop assistant but he grabbed them and took them to the counter and said if I want them I'm having them.

So when we left I checked again. He said the look on his face was purely coz he had no idea how expensive shoes were But he couldn't care less about the price.

After all this man took my friend and I out for dinner and the bill came to $700 and he didn't blink an eye. So he is a very generous man.

My best regular took me shopping for Christmas too. I was really worried about it because I didn't want to seem super greedy and pushy too. He picked the store because he wanted to grab something his daughter asked for (she's one year younger than me...weird) I loved the store so that was a relief but I was too nervous to pick anything out because it was super expensive (nothing under $500). He went through the store with me and asked me about different pieces and then told me to bring back some stuff I liked. It was sort of awkward at first but then I actually had a lot of fun! I got everything I wanted so somewhere in the 2500-3000 rage. I've never been shopping like that before.

I think picking out a few different things and having a most expensive least expensive and middle is probably the easiest way too go. And going to a department store like Saks so there's a varying price range (if he wants to spend a ton you can go to the Prada section... a little you can go to Juicy Couture)

^^^ Not to mention that stockings don't cost anywhere close to $1600... I think you have the right idea, teleron... If I ever offer to buy anything for a dancer, it'll be their choice of stockings...

I'm sure there are stockings that expensive. I -love- stockings and I consider my taste in them expensive. The ones I like tend to run 40-100 though. Of course, my idea of "expensive" tends to be less severe than some women I've known. Not that theres anything wrong with it.

I doubt any dancer would waste her time seeing you OTC just for a pair of stockings. You would be expected to pay to see her OTC if that's all you were offering.

Not trying to be rude just realistic.

^^^ I was just kidding around, Jaizaine... just being goofy... Seriously, those are hot heels and I think the guy got off cheap... he should have bought you the dress that goes with it, too.

What kind of dress do you wear with $1600 Christian Louboutin heels?

I was just kidding about the stockings,... though I love a woman in stockings (preferably with lingerie like lacy garter belt, corset, etc.).

I don't think that stockings by themselves can ever be that expensive, but if you add an Agent Provocateur corset or a Carine Gilson robe (Kimono) you'll get pretty close.
