I find that the business in my club has slowed down these past few days, it just really sucks. The girls at my club speculate its due to after the holidays and guys have less money to spend. How is it at your clubs?

it's the beginning of january, it sucks ass. It does almost every year. It should start to pick up a little around the 20th or so.

Slow, slow, slow in Tucson. This is not exactly a hotbed for money making to begin with, but yes, it's frustrating. It will pass though, like femmefatale88 said.

The past few weeks have been horrible.

its been going way downhill the past couple of months, and lately its been terrible. Like girls struggling to break $100 on a WEEKEND. And we're talking like, seasoned veterans, normally big money-makers.
I took home $150 last night... it was a damn FRIDAY! My friend took home like $60 last saturday & she used to do super well at that club.
hit or miss. I work dayshift

well i have been doing well until thurs night. it got really cold in NOLA all the sudden and i get the feeling that people do not come out wihen it is below freezing here.
also, the heater on the first floor of one of the clubs broke. so it drove out most of the customers who came in to escape the cold, and drove me out because after a certain point i was like "fuck this, im not walking around in my bikini or getting undressed on stage when it is like 50* in here." it was fucking ridiculous.
but other than that, business has been good.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

My club is weird. Last night around 10pm there wasn't a single dance going on in the V.I.P.
It turned out to be a good night but no one was really spending until later.
It's been a challenge to get some guys to spend $100 even on a Friday night!
30 here. 60 there. Lot's of 20 dollar requests which is not the norm at my club. Outrageous. I seriously had to pull a hard hustle to make money last night, and nothing worth mentioning really.
If this quarter doesn't shape up clubs all over are going to start closing come spring time without notice. Guaranteed.

Keep in mind that, where club customers are concerned ...
- since the first of January any customers who earn more than $106k per year ( the Social Security tax 'cap' amount for 2009 ) now have ~$100 a week less in their take home paychecks than they did in December as Social Security taxes for 2010 are withheld
- since the first of January any customers living in states that voted to increase their state income tax rates now have even fewer dollars in their take home paychecks than they did in December as the higher tax rates / withholding has taken effect
- since the first of January any customers who are homeowners must now pay a higher monthly mortgage payment due to the effect of increased 2010 property tax / school tax rates
- lots of companies who traditionally pay Christmas / end of year bonuses changed their bonus payments to stock shares / stock options instead of cash ( to avoid adverse publicity ) ... but customers can't use stock shares / stock options to pay for the VIP room
- while this factor is seasonal, lower than normal winter temperatures plus higher heating oil / natural gas prices is 'sucking' lots of extra dollars out of take home paychecks for home heating / utility bills. This will affect the first quarter of 2010 at the very least.
Keep in mind that, from the clubowner's standpoint, the same above issues exist since the first of the year in regard to rising club income tax rates, rising club mortgage payments ( property tax / school tax increases ), rising club heating / utility bills etc. Also, if the club has 'employees' ( i.e. DJ, bartenders, bouncers etc.), since the first of the year the cost to the club of paying mandatory unemployment insurance and disability insurance premiums on behalf of those 'employees' has gone up significantly ( because state unemployment insurance funds are broke, and have increased insurance rates for 2010 to compensate ).If this quarter doesn't shape up clubs all over are going to start closing come spring time without notice. Guaranteed.
Thus the clubs are now experiencing 'higher costs of doing business' at the same time that club incomes are falling due to fewer customers / less spending per remaining customer. Indeed this is likely to cause many clubowners to simply close down rather than continuing to lose money in 2010 !

Melonie makes a lot of good points about the US. Don't worry ladies. It's slow downunder too. It's summer here which means wedding season, so the club still wasn't completely dead but all the girls were complaining that it was a slow week. Our tax year also doesn't follow the financial year so we don't have any obvious economic demotivators. Right after Christmas and New Years... I'm sure things will pick up in a week or two. Hang in there girls.
It was so bad at my club that I actually quit. it's a 45-minute drive and it was barely worth the gas... there were a couple rare nights in the past 3 months where I went home with more than $200, but mostly it's been $14-80... yeah i said $14. But that place serves free beer, so a lot of people come in just for that and don't even tip.

daniella_maria called it. The clubs around here did get better around the 20th.
I've started having consistent $200 nights again, which is great. Days are another story...

ok ladies. Tonight was my worst night ever... hence I am now hammered. So drunk.. Anyway my boss promises that historically tomorrow is the turn around day... lets all cross our fingers.

I LOVE Golf Season!
Arizona also has tons of sports tourism events that draw middle aged white guys to the sunny 70 degree desert. Last week was packed due to Barrett Jackson, this week has started off slow, but the weekend golfers should be arriving this evening!

My clubs gotten better in the past week, hopefully this January curse is over.

Last night was my worst night ever I made $40. It was a night full of young ghetto dudes who were broke. But last Sat I made 1200 and the day before yesterday I made 800 so it did kind of pick up but not really, I dunno. I also got lucky with a few customers
Horrible, like everyone else is saying. I havn't made over $300 since..... I don't even remember..
I worked my first Friday this past week, and for me I did pretty well. I was wondering if the last Friday of the month is a pretty busy time since most people get their paychecks on Friday or at least the last Friday of the month.
We're also in a state capital, so state employees won't have their monthly check until the 1st.

January tends to be slow, at least in the northeast. It picks up again after that!

I'm coming to NYC this weekend to work hopefully it is better than RI

December at mine was the worst I've ever had, but throughout January it has slowly improved and as of last week I'm almost back to my average. I am hoping to be able to raise my average now that I've passed my first anniversary of stripping and have my hustle skills up to par. However, I work in a coastal beach town with an economy that is largely tourist based and right now we're just starting to get our tourists in. I make most of my money off them.

same here
tangential rant:
yeh... i just don't understand these guys. For all their talk of "making it rain" and "taking care of you" and being a "baller" and shit, it's fucking impossible to sell them a dance. Especially after you politely turn down their sexual advances (they'll still argue with you though... does arguing and browbeating a woman who's in a loving long-term relationship into accepting a date with you ever work?)
And then they'll LIE, either like "we'll get a dance after youre finished on stage" (they never end up getting one) or "nah I don't want a dance, but I'll come see you on stage and 'take care of you'". Then they never come up to the stage, avoid eye contact with you, and when you approach them later they're like "oh damn girl, sorry i guess i missed your stage set. I was uh, in the bathroom" or "you spent all your time dancing on THAT side of the stage, you never came over to the side i was ON" or "I DID come to the stage, you just didn't see me!"
What exactly do these asshole teenage wanna-be thugs get out of this? It's like telling a bartender you're about to order a rum and coke, knowing damn well you won't, and as soon as he/she turns away you run full speed out of the bar. WHY??
/end tangential rant

^ I get rained on a lot. But I never sit with them or talk to them off stage. Rainers normally don't do dances. If they losers want attention-which most do, then make it rain.
Try ignoring the hell out of ghetto dudes. Don't talk to them before your stage-if they feel ignored they may tip u to get u to notice them. If not then at least you didn't waste your time.
My club picked way up since last week. Girls are banking at the moment. We ll see how long it lasts.
