    Default What would you do?

Would you risk breaking the law if strip clubs became illegal under the current business models? I'm sure that a rave style business model would quickly develop if a law was passed banning strip clubs or forcing the performers so far away from the audience that it would be boring anyway (thinking of WA state's 6 foot, no alcohol rules).

And if you would continue to patronize underground strip clubs, how much would you be willing to risk for your entertainment? Jail time?

Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

You are suggesting stripper Speak Easy's. That model could work as long as someone is paying off the law. Getting arrested by a 2010 Ellott Ness would not be cool for me.

I'd be far more willing to hold up to 6ft laws than perform illegally. Even though I many not agree with the law sometimes, I do respect it. There are times when we need to stand up to it because it's just wrong... but I think it's partly a numbers game. If the government tried to outlaw clubs right now I'm sure enough people, myself included, would kick up a fit about it. However, if I felt like all the other dancers were leaving the industry and my chances of being arrested with no recourse were pretty high... I'd look at other options.

I predict that if clubs became illegal a network of strippers for hire would emerge just as it currently exists with escorts. I have no trouble engaging in illegal activity that I have some control over but I can't see myself going to an underground club as it presents the same problems that AMPS and brothels present. Too much risk and too much attention from LE.

As far as 6ft rules, if that was the law of the land I would still go to clubs. I wouldn't buy a private dance from a woman dancing from 6ft away however.

In Washington distance has to do with either the city or the county.

Most of the girls in Seattle are already doing underground shows as it is thanks to the cop activity at one of the clubs. There are only 5 strip clubs in Seattle as it is and they are desolate. Even the busiest strip club which is a measurement of how well the industry is doing in the area is having it's ups and downs.

Private shows are not illegal as long as there is no sex involved.

There was a 4 foot law passed in a small community only in retaliation to the only club in said small town. Then the police started harassing the girls the very next day after the law was passed.

The girls who don't make much money locally hit up Portland because it's easier for them to make money than in Seattle.

So I guess in answer to the question would I still be a stripper if strip clubs were illegal - yes. As long as private shows and stripping in general were not illegal. I've never done a private show but would if it came down too it.

I've got no trouble with it either. I've also gone to AMPS and brothels but I'm still younger (and most likely dumber) than Yoda.

I would probably go to the legal clubs for the Eye Candy, but would not buy any of their 6 foot air dances. Thank goodness for escorts.

I used to go to both but the only two times I have even come close to getting busted where in brothel-type situations. In a situation like that you are trusting everyone else involved to be smart and do the right thing. Never a good idea....

I would risk life & limb for my SC fix.

If SC's suddenly became illegal, I'd still go. If I got arrested, the minute I posted bail I'd be headed right back to the dark underworld of the illegal clubs.

Hell...even if they shot & killed me, I'd come back & haunt the place.

They can't get rid of me that easily!

No I wouldn't risk it because of my future career. Not worth it for me.

There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

The 6 foot rule doesn't bother me since most of my SC time and money goes to conversation, but no alcohol? Forget it.

I would not go to an underground SC. Doesn't sound safe.

Orlando already has shitty laws like this. Dancers can't get naked and they have to be at least three feet away at all times, basically an orlando strip club is not even as good as going to the beach. I simply go to Tampa when i want to visit a strip club, i don't know what i would do if it was illegal everywhere but i doubt it would be important enough for me to break any laws.

Lots of underground shows in London too.

Used to be only one or two, but they've greatly increased in numbers over the last 2 - 3 years as more and more girls think they can make money by running their own. And as the number of private parties has exceeded demand, contact levels have shot up as dancers at the varying parties vie for a customer base that has not increased in size.

One organizer has found a way of making sex legal at his shows, so if you want you can go along and have sex with a dancer right in the middle of the performance area as the finale to the show. How classy.....

I've been to plenty of questionable events in the past (underground music/art/theater/party), but in my 40s I'm less inclined to be around anything seriously illegal. I'll leave even if people are smoking pot. In a SC a dancer and I will stay out of each others' pants. Not to judge anyone else but I draw the line there for myself.

The possibility of being a sex offender is nothing to sneeze at.
