    Default Corn Fed: Jargon Clarification

In the midwest, being "corn fed" means very healthy with an above par diet. A "corn fed" babe (either gender) is usually to the muscular side and in shape with all the right parts.

It comes from animal feed. "Corn fed" means "well taken care of."

I am from the midwest and when I've seen "corn fed" it was meaning girl next door looking women. However, I thought when it was mentioned in another thread it was implied it was a fat, sloppy person.

Corn fed is a compliment in the South. Its old-fashioned, but I've never heard it used negatively. Usually applies to a girl with "girl next door" GOOD lucks, and a healthy body that isn't rail thin or overweight.

    For example:

I just wanted to add, I am only attracted to corn fed looking men. They are hard to find out here in AZ . They are big and strong in a full looking way.

Corn Fed is not a compliment at all. Its what we feed the hogs. Usually means lacking intellingence.

This is how I have always heard it used

"Cornfed"......when referring to women...means 'big or thick' AND from rural areas........not necessarily fat, but a little too big for your taste. And you wouldnt refer to the same sized girl who is from a bigger city as cornfed.

and for men......kind of the same thing......big ole cornfed boy from Nebraska

I figure it comes from it being what they feed pigs and cows to make them big.

Perhaps its a regionalization thing. I'm from the biggest city in the south. No one raised any pigs anywhere near me but there were plenty of rednecks.

This may be true but the phrase was coined back when the corn they where being fed was real corn. What corn-fed means in 2010 is genetically engineered and chemically altered to create a synthetic, ecoli-ridden version of the real thing....

    yummy!

hmm, interesting to see different takes on the same saying. im in southwestern virginia, and we use it to mean like a taller, muscular country boy, not like a lean muscular guy.

I have a veggie garden and usually take a couple of bushels of Sweet Corn and other fresh veggies during the summer months to my local SC and the dancers really appreciate them.

    "Corn-fed" may refer to:

    * Corn-fed beef, beef from cattle that is raised on corn (maize) rather than pasture.
    * As a pejorative:
said of a woman, corn-fed means one who is strong and healthy, but lacks sophistication, typically an overweight girl or woman from the Midwestern UnitedStates

said of a man, corn-fed means one who is large and often muscular, but lacking in intelligence, refinement or sophistication.
