Default Help I’m Having a Restylane Emergency!!!!!!!!!

I just had Restylane injected in my tear troughs an hour ago. I got it done about a year ago and I like the results to I went to the same doctor. This time it looks awful! One side doesn’t look any different than before and the other has LUMPS! I’ve been trying to massage them but they are not going away! I want to call the doctor to complain but I don’t want her to screw my face up again! It looks uneven and messed up and I want to cry. How can I correct this?

Ok, first of all, did you have ANY type of anesthesia? Did they give you some sort of block? You are probably just swollen, Restylane makes you swell like a mofo and anesthesia (lidocaine or other) is only going to make it WORSE!!! Don't fret!

Now, if it still feels lumpy after a day or two, they can inject a substance that will dissolve and break it up, so don't worry, it IS reversible!!!

Also, which doctor did you go to? I need to find a good injectable person out in your area, I travel there all the time.

Yes, she said she mixed it with Lidocaine. The huge lump is gone from the massaging and now there are just two smaller lumps, one of which is at an injection site. I’m really hoping it is just swelling. I've been putting ice on them too. She went in through the cheek on the side that doesn’t look much different and she injected it directly under the eye on the side that is lumpy.

I went to Dr. Lupo. I get botox from her as well and I never had any problems. However if this situation doesn’t even out in a few days I would not recommend her.

^^^ Ok then, are you SURE it was Restylane? Because I've always thought Restylane came already packaged in a syringe, thus making it impossible to mix with anything. She would've had to inject you with lidocaine first, then the Restylane. (I could be wrong, but I don't think so)

There is this new stuff out similar to Restylane, but is mixed with Lidocaine, I believe it's called Hydrelle. Is it possible she put that in? Anyways, wait a day before you get nervous.

Here's a pic of how swollen and lumpy my lips got one time from Lidocaine, when I had Restylane injected, I hope it makes you feel better! They looked PERFECT a few days later, just so you know! They say the more hydrated your body is, the more you swell.

I'm pretty sure it was Restylane. The nurse was the one who told me she was mixing it with Lidocaine (before the doctor came in the room) so who knows. Maybe she just said it to make me not worry? The lumps are going down a bit. The panic attack was a bit premature I guess. But my left eye is still "fuller" than my right one. I think I am going to call on Friday if it still looks like this. Do doctor's usually charge $$ to fix something like this?

She shouldn't charge you to fix it. I had my lady completely redo my Botox one time, free of charge. It's not your fault it got lumpy. The substance that she can inject to dissolve it is called hyaluronidase. Make sure you specifically ask for this if you are unhappy with the result.
