    Default Still Need Practice, So...

Having a few friends over tonight. They're gonna have a few drinks and I'm going to show them my dance progress thus far, and maybe practice a few air dances. They all know what I am striving to do and are excited to see what I've got. (that and I'm modest IRL so everyones excited to see that side of me ) I'm pretty excited!

How do you ladies feel about dancing for friends? My husband will be here with me and none of my friends are pervs. How did you guys practice your dances at first?

I didn't ever practice... I just went in. The first club I worked at hired me on the spot without seeing me dance and told me to come back to work the friday/saturday night shift. I was so nervous the first time I went on stage but got over it in seconds and the rest is history.

I actually love dancing for friends... because I don't feel so limited. I know what I can do with/to them without them getting freaked out and I know they won't ever expect as much as some of the customers in the clubs expect.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

^ Definitely I feel the same with friends. It's way more fun being with guys /friends that know are enjoying it and being entertained, rather than old pervs who give the psycho stare.

They made me audition at my club, since it's sort of pretentious, I guess? they hired me, but I don't feel up to par with my skills yet, plus I'd love to pratice and dance a lot

Sounds to me like you'll do great! I would suggest using an area that isn't carpeted though or putting something over the carpet to practice.

You don't need to know how to do everything perfectly before you audition! You'll learn the most just by being in the club and actually doing it.
The only thing I knew about giving dances when I started was from the awkward and not very helpful dance my boss at my other job (who used to/occasionally still does dance) gave me.

Ugh that is totally an issue, yeah. My pole is on carpet, which is good for stability, but my knees are like red from trying floor work xD haha

Yeah, Amalia, I feel I'm an OK dancer. what sucked is that the way the girls were dancing, at least during day shift, was WAAAY less complicated and way slower and, sexier, vulgar? than I thought it would be. I have to train myself to not really dance, but just move, ha!

Don't try to dance like the other girls.
It gets boring to watch the same type of slow, "sexy" dancing over and over again on stage.

^ I will definitely try this out during nights when it's more busy. During the day it seems the guys are sort of lame
