I live on the east coast. I am thinking of going on a cruise with some friends. Obviously maybe to the Bahamas or somewhere in that area.
Anybody got experience with the rates and how much it could cost 1 person?

cruising varies but let me give you a good link

this site is really good if you can go anytime you want with no planning
really good rates if you keep checking
^Agreed, that's a great link. DO NOT do Norwegian Cruise Line or Carnival, though. The former was one of the worst fucking experiences of my life, and the latter I've heard nothing good about. Royal Caribbean is decent, and surprisingly, Disney is really nice, too. I just went on a week-long Disney cruise in November, and I had a lot of fun.

If you are an adventure loving girl, Barefoot cruise was an amazing experience for me. We cruised the british virgin islands for a wee. Most of those islands are not inhabited. Just beautiful, natural environments. Our ship was re-furbished WW2 French ship. The rooms were simple. But the meals, the people and being able to sleep on a hamack (sp?) on deck was so cool! And snorkeling w/ barracudas (safely of course), catching rides w/ sea turtles and playing tag with entire schools of fish, damed unforgettable.
Yes, there are parties, great food and a stop at a five star restaurant, but it was the adventures and the people, both crew and guests that made for an amazing experience.

I've been on 2 cruises, but not recently. Probably the best advice I can offer is to bring at least 2x the amount that you are spending on the cruise as spending money.
There are a lot of people to tip, shore excursions can be pricey if you buy them from the ship, and when you are in port, of course there is lots of things to spend money on, too.
My fav was when I had a room with a balcony. My husband would order breakfast from room service every morning and we would sit on our balcony in the nude sipping coffee and eating fruit and danishes. Since you are out to sea, and all the other balconies are in a line with yours, you have relative privacy out there. We tipped our cabin steward (he took care of room service, too) extremely well, so our orders got to us quickly and he even poured our coffee and laid out our food for us.
I went on Carnival for both cruises, and enjoy myself immensely. But that was 10 years ago, and I know that things can change a lot over that time.
Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

I did carnival..it was fun. The ship was very 70's though. I suggest a cabin with a window or if you can a balcony. Get the on board card, backed by a credit card and drink your ass off...you're not driving!
Juice, water, sodas are free - alcohol aint!
And swim with the dolphins/stingrays/whatever they got in port!
I went on a week long cruise last month, we went with Carnival. It was a last minute vacation, so we booked late and it was only like $325 per person...however, I spent another $500 or so on top of that. That was from souvenirs, shore excursions, but mostly drinking. And that was several bottles of champagne.
I had a lot of fun, but I know a many people hate Carnival. The decor was super tacky. The whole ship looked like a giant casino, and our cabins was small, but comfortable. Nice bedding. It was an all-inclusive vacation for less than $1000, so it was totally worth it. And I got to ride horses through the Mayan jungle, which was an amazing experience for me.
One negative part of cruising is that you are only in the ports for a few hours. So you barely get a taste for the places you're traveling to.

The port calls give you a chance to vary your scenery, after all, seen one sea, seen them all, and the Vegas atmosphere of most cruise liners gets old fast. Sometimes the shipboard entertainmant is fun. And you can meet people on board.
Order literature from several cruise lines and decide what you want out of your vacation. Maybe visit a travel shop for some more ideas. Then start making decisions while their market and prices are still down.

I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.
Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.
NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

I've been on Carnival and Royal Caribbean. I thought Carnival was pretty good, but Royal Caribbean was better.
Another good site to find cruises is cruises.com. Remember, the prices listed for cruises are based on 2 people per room. If you're going to get a room for yourself, the price will probably be close to twice what is listed.

I noticed the description of 'Vegas vibe" on some the cruises. I didn't get that at all with Barefoot. It was very rustic and it was more like you were on a cool pirate ship. But a comfortable one.

Cruises are pretty inexpensive these days. It is worth it because it's all inclusive. I say go for it!

I think the Barefoot cruises went out of business.Too bad, they sounded awesome!

I took a cruise once, I think the line was Costa. Its ok, but too formal and structured for me.

OMG, THIS is what I would absolutely LOVE to do!

Fuck all that black tie, old retired people, stupid pseudo-broadway shows every night. I wanna go to the Galapagos!
I've paid as little as $93/day on Royal Caribbean. I absolutely LOVE cruises. Some argue that you don't get a real feel for the places that you're visiting - I absolutely agree. However, if you want to cover a larger area over a small amt of time or you just like the ship activities (like me), I say go for it!
You mention going w friends. I've heard that you need to have a roommate, or you will have to pay double. This is just hearsay, though.
I love how just about everything is included that you could want, except for alcohol. Excursions aren't included, either, but on some ships, there is so much to explore that you don't even need them.
Some people prefer smaller ships. You will run into the same people, possibly get to meet new people, and, obviously, there are less crowds. I prefer megaships. The one I'm going on in several months even has a zipline on it!!!!
