    Default Too much tip out

I just started working at a Downtown Kansas city club,mo .Its ok until the end of the night when they take all our money. Ok is $25 ( if you dont sell 5 drinks -this is a juice bar) , then $10 for the housemom- she never has shit ,then $ 10 for d.j -ok this is understandable , then 5 dollars for each dance(each dance is $20 -I try to charge more whenever I can ) +$10 , and to make matters worst the vip room attendant miscounts dances every night so this leads to a big an argument.I do atleast 15 dances per night and I always end up leaving with crumbs it feels like .The most I ever made here was $560 .I only worked here for 4 days but I do not want to go back .Too much dirty stuff in VIP and rude girls and staff.I wouldn't mind this if they were champagne rooms or hourly rates ,but I feel like I'm working too hard for too little money .

It's annoying, but if you want to work at their club, they're gonna ream you.

It sucks but it's not that bad... Trust me my club takes like five times that if it makes you feel any better.

From what I'm calculating your take home is the same as many dancers around the country...and none of your fees sound high. Just stay on top of the dances being counted, and push yourself to sell more.

what i do to avoid dances being miscounted is to pay the $5 fee after every round of dances, this leads to smaller discrepancies in the amount of dances i actually did at the end of the night.

but girl, your fees don't sound that high, when i worked in georgia my house fee was $25, then $5 to every bouncer (saturday nights we had 7 of them), $10 to the dj, and then $5 on top of every dance we did. i'd be tipping out $200 at the end of every night. :/ here in dallas the fees get kinda pricey too. some girls are paying $50-60+ just in house fees...not to mention the tip outs to the djs, the bouncers, the house moms...

if you can't pay the five dollar fee after each dance, because they insist on getting it at the nd of the night, then keep track of your dances yourself. When you are coming out of the lap room, say " that was x amount of dances, right?" then make it very obvious you are keeping track by pulling out a little piece of paper, & writing it down. It might be a pain in the ass, but it's saved me alot of money when I've worked at clubs like that.

Try and find a club that charges a flat rate. I'd rather pay more in house fees and choose who and how much I get to tip than for the club to monitor my money.

It's my money not theirs and it's my business not theirs once they get rent for the day.

Why would I tip the house mom if she didn't help me? Or the bartender if I didn't ask for anything out of the ordinary. I usually tip the DJ the same always but that is someone whom I work with more closely even more so than the manager.

I don't trust clubs that charge per dance for several reasons. If you're not on good terms with the 'couch counter' they will check off more dances just to fuck with you. Just one more person to tip. Really? One of the most useless freaking jobs on the planet.

They club should either take a flat rate or a couch fee NOT BOTH.

My club is MUCH higher than this. Of course the fees aren't as important as what you take home and the earning potential of the club. Its if its nearly impossible to make $200 when busting your ass, then yeah the house fee is too much. I wish there were clubs that just charged a flat rate, and they didn't bother with the dance cut. We are not 'forced' to tip out anyone at my club, and thats the way it should be.

Clubs like this still exist? If so, where ARE they?? I want to work there.

My club is $50 house fee/tipout combined, minimum--though I almost always tip more, plus they take 40% of what you earn in dances/rooms -- with additional tipouts to the dj (aside from the mandatory $10) any time you do a room. Oh and let's not forget the 10% funny money tax!

It's a shame, but it's the best club in town to make money. I'd really love to travel because it can be like this everywhere.

Christ, I wonder sometimes if it's even worth it anymore.

Actually... that doesn't seem bad at all.
Everything you mentioned doesn't add up to the base fee at my old club... and then we still had to tip bar/dj ON TOP OF THAT. /shrug.

Its really hard because I was dancing at a club in Dallas where the earning potential was double and I was making like over 2k+ per week ( 4 day -8 hour shift )and my tip out was $15(if you got there by 7) and tip housemom and DJ was optional so I tend to tip more when I'm not being pressured and the housemom and DJ there were absolutely wonderful.I dont have a choice because I moved here to be with my bf ( relationship is going sour) and I plan to go to nursing school. The cost of living here is dirt cheap as oppose to Dallas. But thats about it.I am really contemplating moving back to Dallas.I just hate going to work thinking" OMG like what if no one comes in here today" ..Yes its that sad.I hate the uncertainty .But I also hate moving . ...

P.S.Thanks Girlies I do feel alot better .I just hate feeling played.

@ stripper hacks -My theory is some club owners rely on the dancers to pay there employees .Yea I totally agree why pay the house mom if I dont use her stuff.Oh yea I totally agree the "couch counter" tried to hit on me the first 2 nights and I blew him off.So I think that may be another reason why I keep getting overcharged.Yes next time I go back back I am soooo keeping track off my dances .Never again will I rely on this dude to keep accurate records.I dont think there is a club with flat rate but I will definitely shop around

$560 is a lot of money in this economy.
I've been dancing like 9 months, hustling my ass off, doing mostly high contact, and I've NEVER made more than $400 or so in a night. Your fees are about the same as mine, too.

Have you only been dancing 4 days total? Or 4 days at that particular club?

Yep, that's how long I've been dancing (about nine months) and I've also never broke 400$. I don't think I'd mind tipping more if I made more.

That's not that bad - trust me. The club that I work at it's: $35 for rent, $6 out of every $25 dance that you do, no VIP, and I usually spend $20 a night on tip out.
Most of the girls make $100-$200.

    Word. Where do you dance?

I know, I came from Georgia to NC... and while Georgia is WAY worse, NC isn't much better.

And Charlotte is way overrated. WAY overrated.

I get charged a house fee and my club takes 16 from every dance-- plus I have to tip EVERY employee a dollar per dance I sell-- so getting overmarked is a big deal. But the responsibility for that is on YOU. After every single dance go and check with the counting guy for how many he marked you, and what that puts you at for the night. If he overmarked you tell him and if he won't change it, go to the customer and say you made a mistake. If he won't pay up, go get that counter involved or the manager. And keep track through the night of how many dances you're doing and with who so you can challenge it at the end of the night if they try to rip you off.

Once they see that you're not a bimbo who's not keeping track of her $, and that you're actually a smart business woman on top of her shit, they'll stop fucking with you . I hate to put down my fellow strippers, but theres a reason why so much exploitation goes on in this business. When I flrst started stripping I used to get screwed with all the time. Now I'd love to see those motherfuckers try

You're working at Bazooka's? Or wait....no, Totally Nude Temptations? I lived in KC for a long time, and I eventually ended up in Lawrence because KC clubs are gross. I worked at the Shady for awhile....total skeeze place.....and tried TNT and yeah, it was gross gross gross! I suggest heading to Lawrence, try Paradise Saloon or The Outhouse. I mean, those places, esp the Outhouse aren't much better, in terms of interiors but the girls aren't near as dirty or diseased or just plain nasty. The dances are CLEAN (or were at least, when I last worked there around Dec/Jan of '09). The Outhouse is totally nude and it's BYOB and although the owner, Jeff is NUTTY, and the tipout changes almost daily, usually it runs about like this: free Sun-Tues, $40 Wednsday, $60 on Thurs and $100 on Fri and Sat, also, you are expected to tip out each bouncer $5 (there is usually one Sun-Wedns, and 2 Fri and 2+ on weekends). So a lot better than downtown AND you don't need a permit! The drive sucks, 45 mins and when it's icy, it's hard to navigate I-70 but it's totally worth it AND it's safer than downtown (which is sketchy after dark--I used to bartend at the Brick off McGee and 17th and people got shot on that block all the damn time).

Also, Paradise Saloon is good, and honestly, I worked there the longest out of any KC strip club. The thing about Paradise is you gotta HUSTLE and you gotta work hard. I did a guest spot there in May and it had SO MANY GIRLS since it's seriously the best club in the KC/Lawrence area. It's run by a group of lawyers, so its totally clean, not skeezey and the rules MAKE SENSE, and rarely change. The only problem is the dances are $10 topless with FULL CONTACT (grabbing boobs, pulling, sucking ect), and the songs are jukebox songs so they are 3-5mins long. That's a LOT of work for $10 AND they are nazi's about girls overcharging (they send undercover 'customers' in all the time to make sure no one is overcharging and if you get caught--automatic firing). When I last worked there, there was NO VIP, which sucked, but I HEARD from an old regular of mine that they put in a........omg this is soooo funny........ED HARDY VIP ROOM (hahahahah....I hate Ed Farty). So maybe there is hope there for more money, with less work, but I can't confirm on this. The tip out in May was the same as it was the entire time I worked there: $30 flat rate, and $5 to each bouncer, usually 2-3 on any given night. I also tipped the bartender and waitresses, although this was not mandatory. Another tip for Paradise: I found that the best shift there wasn't night shift, but mid shift--from around 3pm to 9-10pm. The clintele here is mainly comprised of regulars, and since it's in the middle of farm land (CORNFIELDS) most of these people are the type that go to be around 10. So the rush at this club isn't late at night, not at all. It's mid-day. So try to work mid-shift, which isn't usually hard, since most girls are too stupid to figure out it's the best shift to work.

And please feel better knowing that, like audrey_k, who works at the same club I do, I pay out 50% OR MORE of my money. I do $40 dances, and leave with $20, sometimes less, and there will be nights where if a customer pays with chips, that I will leave with 1/3 of the money I was given. My club even charges "tip out" on my TIPS! If a customer tips me over 30% on a credit card, the remaining amount over 30% is halved and they take half. It's RIDICULOUS! I will have $4000 in my pocket and walk with $1500. I mean, I'm not complaining about $1500 but when you had $4000? PLEASE. That's so fucked up! And if you, heaven forbid, come in late? You're looking at more like 60-70% of your money gone in "tip out". I've straigt up handed that club THOUSANDS of dollars in tip out in one night.....................(((( I hate it. But it's STILL good money, even after tip out so I stay, plus their customer base is really wealthy and I have regulars now.

But my point is: things COULD be worse, and I gave you some good advice about KC strip clubs so if you DO feel like changing, you have options.

THANKS FOR SO MUCH GREAT ADVICE!!! I went to Shady and got hired and didnt even go back so .....How did you know I work at Temptations??? I thought it was going to be lucrative providing the fact its downtown power and light district ..WRONG!!!! .Its the epitome of filth.I have seen penises popping out of pants and girls going down on guys right next to me ..BAREBACK !!!! !I cannot compete with that ..Some of the women I worked with had very little value for themselves and felt like they to do a ton of extras for a $ 20 dance that was technically $ 15 at the end of the night. I would of been at Bazookas but they hired me until i mentioned my tattoos but when in there as a customer they weren't that many people there for a Friday night but Temptations is just as bad but it doesn't seem as dead because its very small .I will definitely try the Outhouse ,I've heard raving reviews about that place but I'm not a fan of commuting (I'm enrolling to nursing school this fall).I have decided am not going to stay here because I hate facing the uncertainty that a single customer might not walk through the door.I set a very high standard of living for my daughter and I and this isn't cutting it .I cannot have a peace of mind that way.But i will stick it out for at least one more month and go home to Dallas($$$$$$) .I love my boyfriend ....but not that much...lol..Yes but again thanks for the run down because I can be busy in the mean time

P.S [email protected] black_widow I should of totally took heed to your advice http://forum.stripperweb.com/showthr...ht=KANSAS+CITY
