    Default Am I Skinny???!!!

So I'm talking to one of the fine SW members via Skype, and she's looking at a few pics of yours truly, and says "wow, you're so skinny"

I'm a tad under 5'7" and a tad over 200lbs, and approx 11-12% BF. I have been bigger, and harder "back in the day" (see pick below) but skinny?!

    Now at 44:

"Back in the day" - mid 80s I recall:

So what would you gals consider "skinny" for a man and do you find my recent picks of a skinny man?

Was she being sarcastic? Or just pulling the same game as the customers and intentionally trying to make you feel insecure.

you don't look skinny, but because you have a heavier build up top, it does make you look a little weirdly proportioned between your shoulders/chest and waist/hips.

Not sure if one can tell from this pic, but my legs are probably my best bodypart, I just don't show them often. At a party with McCain:

The other pic does give a top heavy impression, but skinny?! Just venting and being silly.

    Thanx for the feedback.

No offense, but you should worry first about not tucking that t-shirt into those pants, getting a different belt, and changing the look of your hair before worrying about your build, which incidentally looks average.

As you can see, didn't used to be thin. Had some nerves cut in my neck that caused some atrophy due to being unable to contract the muscles correctly. It's still an average sized neck (17"), but due to the larger rest of me, appears thinner.

Didn't ask, about my hair, belt, or my wardrobe. Just thought it was interesting someone who is 5'7" and over 200lbs and not fat could be considered "thin."

I'm just curious, why do you post here?
And I don't mean this question to be posed as a judgement, but I don't know why you're asking female strippers if you're too skinny?

Well be offended if you like, but it's constructive criticism, and if you took it as such, it would help your appearance greatly.

Because I enjoy some of the members, interesting threads, open attitudes toward various topics, etc., as well as have some knowledge myself on some things some find useful.

Seems as good a group as any to ask. Who better to tell a man from a female perspective? Besides, it was something of an inside joke.

Says the appearance police...don't suck all the fun out of what was just a simple silly post/thread.

Sucks about your neck Will, that must restrict your workouts somewhat huh. You look like you're doing great for 44---keep up the good work 'old man'!

It does not restrict the workouts per se, but as you can see from old pics, my neck does not respond to exercise as other muscles do. As I said, it's a "normal" size, but the rest of me makes it look thinner. Thanx for the support. Believe me, after 40 everything gets MUCH tougher. You all will learn that for yourselves....be nice to the old folk...

Already looking into the HGH therapy! And I already struggle with getting my traps up even without a neck injury, so don't sweat it!

Do you get regular blood work done? See It's In Your Blood for more info on that, optimizing hormones, etc.

Yeah I was actually just joking about the HGH therapy. I am below 10% body fat, look 10 years younger than I am, am a competitive martial artist, and general level of fitness is beyond most 20 year olds that I train with. If stuff starts to get out of whack when I hit 40 then I will definitely look into the blood work, but as of now everything seems to be working as it should. But thanks for the heads up!

Good deal. All I will add to that is, best not to wait 'till things go out of whack to look into it, but head it off well before that. I recommend all men get that blood work done yearly after age 35.

For example, I know my T levels from my 20s, 30s, and now 40s.

    Good luck brother.

The story on the McCain thing is, and why I am dressed like that is, it was pool party, and they had Obama and McCain cut outs at the party.
