There is so much info about taxes in the Dollar Den (it kind of makes my head spin).

Stripper persona- Britney DeFaire @ The Jet Strip.
My mom is an accountant and she's even logged on here to check out somethings in the dollar den. She was freakishly excited about preparing my tax return and wanted to see what other strippers wrote off lol. I've heard bad things about H&R Block- they charge a lot and don't always get things right. I would call around places see what they charge and explain that you're a dancer/independent contractor and ask if they are familiar doing those kind of returns.

a great starting point would be to read through the 'sticky' threads at the top of the Dollar Den
Also from your siggy I see that you are from California. That state also levees its own income tax.
As to the franchise tax preparers i.e. H&R Block, Jackson Hewett etc. - they're better than nothing. However, they are typically not geared to preparing 'small business' tax returns. And they are certainly not experienced with specific IRS rulings or 'standard practices' where independent contractor dancer business expense tax deductions are concerned.
I am working in California, but also Nevada and thinking about Florida etc. I am able to travel and willing to move to a place where my taxes are reasonable. Do you know anything about Tax advantages to certain states? If I reside in California do I have to pay taxes on all the money I make in other places or the the other way around? If I live in another state do I have to file in California if I work there?

^^^ California has a notorious 'business nexus' law which attempts to tax both the in-state and out-of-state business earnings of California residents !!!
