Default Working in Arizona, Texas, NOLA etc. as a European.

I am coming to the US in about 2 weeks but I still haven't decided where to go...I will fly into NYC but I plan to stay there just for a few days and then go somewhere warmer.

I am a European citizen, I don't have a greencard. But I have worked in Florida for 3 years in a row (90 days at a time) and never had any problem with getting hired anywhere there. But I am worried that it will not be the same case in other states.

I am curious about Arizona, Texas, NOLA etc. Everywhere in the south basically, except California. Does anybody know how it works? I have understood that you need a licence to dance in some states and clubs. How strict is it exactly? I would be devastated if I went to Texas or Arizona for example and couldn't find work. And I really don't fancy going back to Florida....

    Thank you for your help!!!!

^^^ you are obviously correct that even though US law now requires 'employers' to check the legal work status of new 'employees' there will always be clubs that could care less about ID / citizenship / work visa etc. if the girl is 'hot' enough.

However, local cops / gov'ts aren't so easily swayed. Therefore in any city that requires a dancer's license / business license, when applying for that license you are going to be expected to produce ID, that ID is going to be verified, and you're not going to be issued a license if you cannot document your ability to work legally in the USA via citizenship / green card / work visa. As such, even if some clubowners would otherwise be willing to hire you, without the required local dancer's license they dare not take that risk.

Of the three states you mentioned, Louisiana is the least likely, and Texas is the most likely, to present a licensing problem. Again not every Texas city requires a dancer's license, but many do.

Beyond the dancer's license / business license pitfall, you may also find that 'corporate' clubs now routinely check the legal work status of new dancers as a matter of corporate policy even if there aren't any local dancer's licensing requirements. This is an outgrowth of Patriot Act enforcement, and fines being leveed against certain individual 'corporate' club locations for allowing dancers to work illegally in the past.

You HAVE to have a valid form of I D and a social security card for anywhere in New Orleans, and they are very strict. Baton rouge and Shreveport require licensing. Dallas and houston require licensing too. Basically, I would go back to where you know you can work, because most places in the south won't likely hire someone who can't legally work in this country.

Same in Austin, you have to have a valid license and SSN, as with Las Vegas as well.

I'm in South Carolina and I've never been asked for mine. But you also don't need any form of dancers license etc. Nearby in Atlanta they screen you like crazy.

At Babes Cabaret in Scottsdale AZ, my club manager can order you a feature license (which is different from the standard "adult entertainer") license that circumvents some of the work permit laws. However, you will still have to get here, audition, and meet the club's requirements before the paperwork can begin.

Well yes that was not one of the clubs on my list. I dont work there since they take like 70% of your vip money. I know they have tons of eastern euros there and I think they are owned by them as well so she is probably telling the truth.
