Default Put up my PS superpole and heard a bang in the ceiling

I put up my PS superpole today using Alena Downs' youtube video. I did everything exactly , using the stud finder, level etc. However when I went to tighten it I heard a pop/bang sound from the ceiling beams which didnt sound good and I know I didnt overtighten it. I checked and the ceiling is ok. I dont know what to do, i know the pole was up against a stud, but the noise worried me. Any advice?

GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN BEFORE DISASTER STRIKES.

Did you drill an empty hole just shy of the width of the screw before putting the screw in? If you simply drilled the screw in then you probably split the beam. Drilling before screwing is done to reduce stress on the wood.

Also, I hope you didn't drill right where the stud finder marked, because that marker means that there's a metal screw or nail right in that spot. If you did that, then that means you drilled into metal.

    PS SUperpole does't require drilling/screwing. It's a pressure mount.

to the OP. Sorry, I don't have any advice, but I just wanted to clear that up!
