I'm just curious.
I started using the "official title" of camgirl wayyyy back in 2000 when I was 14. Back then to be a camgirl, it meant you had your own .com or .net website with a blog, an 'about me' section, a photo gallery of random cam stills (my gallery had over 500 stills!), maybe some other random sections of artwork or something, and a "remote cam" on the main page which was really just a camstill that got updated daily or multiple times daily, depending on the girl. You were looked down upon if you didn't do your own website design/coding, most of the girls were under 21 but the majority was between 15-17 with the "babies" being 13-14. the target audience was creepy older pervs and other camgirls. Most of the girls just did it to get a self esteem boost by being told how "hot" and "deep" they were, and occasionally would get the creepy pervs to purchase wishlist items or make random paypal donations.
back then you didn't get naked (obviously the minors didn't), and if you did it was only in private shows with the customer sworn to secrecy...and if you were one of those "camskanks" who got naked, god help you!!!
Examples:
Renee of sacred.nu
Chelle of chellecam.com
Mindy of 5ilver.net
Nicole of sparkley.net
(my website was sugarhye.net)
Then camwhores.com came out and the game started to change. I'm just wondering if there's any ladies out there who remember that small little niche of the internet.
Those were the good ol' days...back when a collection of smiling (clothed) photos = random stranger purchasing a VHS copy of Pulp Fiction for you off your wishlist. LOL.
It's completely different today!!!!
