    Exclamation Backne

Anyone suffer from it? I have horrible back acne. Well... It's getting a lot better, but I've had it all my life. Most of it is cleared up I suppose, in comparison to before. And now my whole entire back is literally covered in scars. If people ask I usually just say it's freckles.

What type of makeup would cover this? Or should I just get some long hair to my waist to cover it?

Phisoderm makes an all-over acne body wash. I have acne on my chest and it's cleared up considerably when I use it with a loofah.

I haven't had it on my back but I have had awful sore pimples all over the backs of my thighs and my butt - so I feel for you too. I use a 'Clinique' medicated body wash which has already been suggested - but - sunlight (some gentle, moderate sunbathing) - and letting the fresh air get to your skin will help.

Of course, the good old '5-a-day' fruit and veg in your diet, does wonders for your skin too.

Back acne can be caused by a stressed liver and an overload of toxins in the body. Acne of all sorts is usually caused by candida and/or food allergies. My sister had severe acne all her life and only got rid of it recently after getting a food allergy test and cutting out the culprit foods. She's nearly 40.

I would grow your hair long, but there are some good products on the market to cover scars. Rio is good, it's strong enough to cover tattoos.

I had it very bad for many years (on my back, chest, and face). Here's what keeps me 98% clear now:

    1) In the shower (daily) I use Neutrogena body *scrub* (not body wash) and rub it in good. I usually let the suds sit on my body while I shave before rising them off.

    2) I use the gentle version of stridex at morning and at night. After the morning application (right after my shower) I let it dry and then use a non-comedogenic lotion on top. If I skip the lotion my skin will get painfully dry and I'll have a breakout.

    3) I cut out sugar and gluten completely. I only use splenda, which I know most people say is bad and blah, blah, blah...but my skin is clear and I'm happy! I really think it's the no-sugar thing that's helped me the most. If you're like most people, I doubt you'll be able to give it up. It's something you really have to want to do and you have to stick with it long term.

well I gave up on the natural approach. I have slight bacne (only middle-upper, and they are small), and some "assne", but only one or two a month. I use prescription products for mine, and thats why it is so slight now. It also cleared up the acne on my face. Now I only get one or two pimples a month there (around my period usually).

I also use Clinique Acne Solutions wash, lotion, etc.

I have only had assne about 2 or 3 times. Just one pimple. And secretly? I love when I get it.

It's really gross but I love looking in the mirror and popping assne pimples!!!! Gaahhh

But I'll try what everyone recommended. Tax returns are in and I got $2K so I'm gonna stock up and see what works best.

Also, I haven't really tried anything yet except for showering more often (Showering daily makes my skin super dry, and I hate putting lotion on my back. It makes it feel greasy but I'll find something new!)

    Thanks ladies <3

Growing your hair out might actually make it worse because of the oils from your hair - I've noticed that when I grow out my hair my back breaks out more.

One thing that's helped is keeping my hair off my back while I'm showering - I put it up with a big clip after I put conditioner in, put it back up after I rinse, and then scrub my back with a Salux cloth to make sure there's no conditioner residue left. You could probably use a shower cap if you don't want to use a clip in wet hair.

DONT use any lotions that contain silicones in them! Pretty much all lotions! Use JOJOBA OILS to moisturize ONLY!

Stop using any facial cleanser that has SULFATES! NO SOAP EITHER! WASH BACK WITH GOOD OLD BAKING SODA!

ALL NATURAL IS THE ONLY WAY TO BE! THE SILICONES IN MOISTURIZERS ARE CLOGGING YOUR PORES AND NOT ALLOWING YOUR SKIN TO BREATHE. THE SULFATES ARE DRYING OUT YOUR SKIN CAUSING IT TO OVERPRODUCE OIL. STOP THE CYCLE OF ABUSE!!!

I ALSO HAVE HEARD HEAD AND SHOULDERS WORKS WONDERS ON BACKNE BUT NEVER HAVE TRIED THIS METHOD MYSELF!

Yikes, I'm crazy allergic to Head&Shoulders. Then again, all natural products tend to ruin my skin as well, it loves chemicals.

Actually-- baking soda is NOT the best solution for your skin. Your skin is acidic by nature, with an average Ph between 4.5 and 5.5. Baking Soda is alkaline. Its great for an occasional exfoliation treatment-- but using it daily will wreck the Ph balance of your skin.

theres another thread here about backne and there were so many people praising head and shoulders that i tried it and it actually worked for me! it made them less obvious and they stopped appearing.

however, i also went to a dermatologist after and he prescribed a topical antibiotic that cleared it all up in like less than 2 weeks lol so yeah doc's meds are the best for acne, no other products worked for me and i tried a LOT, like proactive and neutrogena etc.

*** I didn't mean growing MY own hair out, but getting extensions. No oils in there. I already got some and they pretty much hide a great portion of it, with the lighter scar/freckles scattered on the lower half of my back.
