I love books that make you feel good and help you improve your life. Does anyone have any suggestions for inspirational books or just any book that made a difference in your life?
I loved the book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man-Steve Harvey

1) Tony Buzan - "Use your Head" is a good introduction to memory techniques. I wouldn't go to the full extremes of learning all the 'memory tricks in the book', but my day to day memory has improved as a result of reading it.
2) Marcus Aurelius - "Meditations". The thoughts of a Roman Emperor. Worth having on the bedside table and dipping into for a few minutes a night.
An example: "Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present".

Why Men Love Bitches is a good one for dating...
The Ultimate Secrets of Total Self Confidence by Dr. Robert Anthony....I'm reading that one now.
Another is "Get Out of Your Own Way".
I'm about to hit 25 so I'm going through this "self-help" phase.

I have found all of these very helpful in my search for inner peace:
An Open Heart.....the Dalai Lama
Loving What Is.....Byron Katie (also "A Thousand Names for Joy" & "I Need Your Love...Is That True?"
The Power of Now....Eckhart Tolle (also "A New Earth)
The Tao te Ching....Stephen Mitchell
The Tao of Pooh.....Benjamin Hoff (also "The Te of Piglet")
Siddhartha by Herman hesse

Some similarities here:
'An Open Heart'.....the Dalai Lama
'Siddhartha' - Hermann Hesse
'The Tao of Pooh' - Benjamin Hoff (I grew up on Pooh Bear)
then -
'Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus' - John Gray.
'Sacred Contracts' - Caroline Myss
'Women Who Run With The Wolves' - Clarissa Pinkola Estes
'The Alchemist' - Paulo Coelho
'Jonathan Livingston Seagull' - Richard Bach
'The Magic Life' - A Novel Philosophy - Ace Starry
'Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance' - Robert Pirsig
'Stranger In a Strange Land' - Robert A. Heinlein
'Animal Farm' - George Orwell

"Good Girls keep diaries....Bad Girls don't have the time..!!"

Ethel Waxham's diary entries in Annals of the Former World by John McPhee. You'll need to gloss over all the geology stuff to find those gems. What a remarkable woman.
