    Default Tipping for conversation redux

From Boston, hope this doesn't anger Yoda.

Is there anyone else out there who would rather just sit and talk for 15-20 minutes with a beautiful woman? I normally tip my favorite dancer $60 to $100 for this. I hate the "i'll sit with you for 2 minutes or less, ask for a dance then leave and sit alone" thing. I get why dancers do it though.
Lap dances around Boston aren't great, which is fine, I am not looking for contact. I would prefer a club where you can sit down and chat over a drink. However, they don't exist. I also tip on stage and buy drinks for the dancers. I would never think of doing this on a Saturday or other busy time, normally when it's "No one is buying dances, I'll just sit here alone" time.

Is there anyone else out there like this? Dancers, have you met anyone like this? I realize I am very much in the minority, but don't most regulars actually go to the club just to hang out with you? Yes, I do feel awkward tipping for this, so I normally make it a $100 bill game of rock-paper-scissors. If I lose, it's 2 out of three etc. I never win.

If you are around Boston/NH you've seen me.

    justsomeguy42, 32 but prefer the number 42.

I've been tipped for conversation before. Just make it clear ahead of time that you'll be tipping for her time and I'm sure most will be happy to keep you company. "I'm not into dances, but I'll tip you for your time" is easy and direct.

I won't do dances, haven't for years since I started DJing. Too easy to wind up working with the woman later and then the dynamics are all screwed up, for one thing.

But I have friends in one club especially that hang with me for a couple hours in the red velvet booth I rent. Some I have worked with, some not. I always buy them drinks, and sometimes will pay them to dance for each other if I am sure they are into it. But sometimes if I have just had a good weekend I give them some money for having entertained me. It's the polite thing to do on occasion.

One of them now works with me, and she tips me very well--and the dynamics are not screwed up the way they likely would be had I actually gotten dances from her.

An ex of mine said this is the only kind of customer she would ever consider dating OTC. Not that she reflects what all other dancers think!
