Default Reducing an in-progress scar? (help plz)

Some of you might have read that I was recently in a bad car accident. (I posted about it in life-support). I have a nasty seatbelt "burn" across my chest. It's been 3 days and it starting to heal.. but the way it's healing... it looks like it's going to leave a scar. I have a friend who has a nasty scar on his arm from an airbag burn and that's pretty much how this is starting to look. What can I do to minimize the possibility of a scar? I mean, not to be shallow since I'm lucky and glad to be alive...... but it's right in my cleavage area and I'm worried it'll ruin my wanting to show that area off in the future. It's about 3.5 inches long and 2 inches wide at it's thickest.

Try using Palmer's Cocoa Butter or their Stretch mark/scar formula just around the wound so that the skin gets vitamins as it heals.

I would use Bio oil or Aloe Vera Gel straight from the plant.

See if you can get a prescription for clobetasol propionate from a plastic surgeon. It's a pretty potent steroid cream that will keep a scar flat and keep it pale instead of bright red or purple.

I have an airbag scar that was 2'nd degree, and became infected. Terrible. I used Silver Sulfadiazine, which really really helped. It is now available on amazon. Great product.

The best way to prevent scarring- not reduce it- is to create an artificial skin layer. This involves keeping the injury covered and moist at all times. Change the dressing twice a day, use the triple-action polysporin stuff, and don't let it scab. Don't pick the scab if it does.

Ah this post was a couple weeks ago now... how did it heal?
