Default my finger is throbbing. my acrylic ripped off my real nail!!

tonight at work my acrylic nail ripped off (was overdue for a refil and I have them long), it took with it half of my real nail. It was a bloody mess!! Now there is just raw flesh there

the pain is really bad, it's a constant throbbing pain! Should I take a paracetomol? will that help?

will i be able to get another tip put on this raw nail?

I literally just had the same thing happen last week. It hurt so bad I could barely sleep whenever the nail bed touched the sheets of the bed.

If you can stand it dip it in some hydrogen peroxide or watered down alcohol to kill off any potential germs. Hold your hand upright and ice the nail to stop the bleeding. Also take a pain killer.

When the bleeding stops go to the nail salon. They'll glue a false tip on which will make it feel a lot better right away and the pain should be totally gone in about two days.
    Don't you ever sleep?

This has happened to me. Distinfect the HELL out of it. One time I didn't, and had a staph infection there, which the doctor had to drain, by injecting a huge needle into my finger (he froze it first, so it didn't actually hurt). Either way, save the trouble.

Also, try to get the rest of the nail off if you can, let the nail bed breathe.

    Good luck lady!

I ABSOLUTLY feel your pain!!! This happened to me the week before Christmas whilst i was ON the pole at work! Caught my finger under my knee whilst i was gettting into gemini position and ripped the entire thing off! Worst bit was, my finger started bleeding (profusely) all over the shop, and I had a group of (obnoxious) lads sat watching/heckling me abt a foot away, i got off the pole and off the stage, wandered over to my manager who soaked it in diluted TCP and put plasters over it while i was at work to stop anything getting in the cut! Honestly thought i was going to faint it hurt so much!

Disinfect it, Leave it open so the air gets to it for a couple of days, coz that will heal it quicker, and if you have enough nail left to put another tip or acrylic over the top, do it, it bonded my skin/what was left of my nail back together and stopped it throbbing half as much!

Bloody hell! That is my worst nightmare. Ive only chipped one maybe 5-6 times and I've had them 4 years. I've always chipped them at work and usually on the pole. Always when I've left it too long. Moral of the story is gotta keep up. I used to live directly across the road from my nail place so they were always perfect. I didn't break or chip a nail for 2 years!

Oh and hope it feels better soon Jaizaine

Maybe they are using gel??? The gel breaks easier.

I've never had gels. Im pretty sure they are acrylic. Im going tomorrow (ran out of time today coz I slept in after working til 6am on monday!!!!).

At least they wont be as tender tomorrow. I hate going to the salon when my nail is really hurting then it's so painful.
