    Default NJ Newbie Help!

Hi everyone, I've been researching my butt off about dancing- i've danced since I'm 6, (i'm 21, almost 22) and also model, so I thought paying off student loans and working on saving for , well, life, dancing at a club would be a good idea. (thought never even was at one until last week) Of course I have a lot of concerns and questions like everyone- so here they are haha..hopefully you jersey girlies can help!

First of all, obviously the club- yes, i checked out the reviews on here, and also on stripclublist, but like someone else said-reviews aren't everything, really would love to hear from current dancers (most of those reviews are years old). Some place in central jersey ish area?

I did audition last week at a club, and got hired only problem was, the hours (i need day shifts, home by 6pm), the girls smoked in the bathroom and came home smelling like smoke- no good- and also, i'm not used to dancing or walking for that matter in heels- so after a 4 song audition in heels, 5 days later I can finally walk and bend down without wincing, even though I have extremely strong legs. ANY help on any of those issues would be appreciated..

And of course the fact of hiding it from your family- which I know would die if they found out , but this is for helping me- and them as well. Again, any help appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Well I don't work in Jersey anymore, I moved up to the big time in Manhattan lol. I started out dancing in central jersey and always dreamed of working at my current club actually.
Anyway, working in jersey is super easy. You can get hired anywhere for day shift. You won't make much money on day shift, but if that's what you can do, you can make it work. There are tons of clubs out there, you might have to drive a little bit though.
My fave club to dance at in central jersey was Bourbon St. There are some places in Bound Brook that might have an okay day crowd. Centerfolds in Neptune is great for the summer but I think its nude now. Do you want to dance nude or just bikini?
If nude is an option I would try Go-Go Rama, although I've never worked there I hear its good money.
Is there still Breathless in Rahway? That was a good spot too. There are so many places, just go on stripclublist.com or whatever and start visiting places.

I don't know anything about hiding it from your family, I've always lived on my own. I'd assume if its a day job it wouldn't be too hard just make some shit up.

Also if you're working days, your previous dance experience doesn't mean anything, its all about sales skills. If you have those, you're set. Otherwise I'd try to figure out a way to work nights where you can make decent money off of stage tips while you learn how to sell dances.

Yay someone replied lol! Thanks so much- Ive been checking the reviews both on here and stripclublist- but most of them are YEARS old, and like others said, sometimes what's good for one person is better for another, just wanted to know opinions from currently working girls in the area. I'm totally fine doing nude clubs- boobs look better nude than in a bikini since they're small haha. I'll try seeing what go-go rama is about, and not sure about breathless but I'm definitely going to see what's going on. Thanks so much

    Any other takers appreciated!!
