Yes I'm going to start harnessing my baby after this thread. I wish I could harness her to my chest with a Baby Bjorn type thing but then I'd just smash her body anyway. This works out perfect since I'm getting a new car so it can just be part of the new routine. Although of course now its a 2-door convertible instead of a sedan so harnessing her in the back won't be as easy, but oh well.

This is the same thing I have. My beagle is 25 lbs and it's just a seatbelt type thing.. No matter what I feel he would get hurt if I was in a serious accident.. I'm not going to stop our trips to the dog park because of it, but it does worry me often.
That scares me about the crates exploding or imploding and being more hurtful to the animal.. Eek!

he doesnt have a problem with it, i tell him 'get in!' and he runs right in and i zip him up hehe. he would rather leave with me than be left home all day. the only time he starts to cry is when I unbuckle my seatbelt, he might think im gonna leave him in the car or something which is odd because i never have, but once i open his door he stops whining. hes also crate trained, he sleeps in a crate next to my bed so I know right where he is in case of an emergency
