    Default Finally introducing myself

Hey ladies. I've been lurking for a while, thinking about dancing but never actually making the plunge until last night. I waitressed at the club for a few weeks, the money was horrible (50 to 100 dollars on weekend nights, barely anything on weeknights).

My first night dancing went pretty well! I'm super sore and tired as hell but I walked out with over 400 dollars. I'm living in Toledo, Ohio and the economy sucks here, so it was pretty good money for my first night.

I do have one question. My situation is this= I go to school full time, have a two year old son and finding a babysitter is difficult. I also work 3 days a week tutoring (not great money, but its good experience and works on my resume). However, the club informed me that I must work a minimum of 4 nights a week (uh what?!) A big reason to start dancing was to make more money working less days so I have time for school and other responsibilities. They did inform me that I can be "freelance," meaning I pick my days (however many I want) but am charged an additional 50 dollars on top of my house/bar/bouncer/housemom/DJ fees. On a weekend I would be paying out around $115. Is this normal? Is that 50 dollar loss worth it? I can come in a few hours early on the days I work and make it up, but still...

A big thank you to all the ladies here! I learned A LOT in my weeks lurking around and reading. Some of the smallest tips on here helped my hustling immensely! Thank you all

Well I haven't started dancing yet..but learning so much here first and then off to find a good club that works with my hours that I need also- in my opinion they seem a bit strict from what I've heard on other posts- if the hours don't work for you, and they're adding on fees for things thats a red flag for me, maybe theres another club that would suit you better? Good luck!!

This who thing sounds fishy to me. The only reasoning I can figure out here is that they have dancers who are both employees and freelancers. If they have employees they'll be getting some sort of hourly wage, and shouldn't be charged a "house fee" - however they may not get to keep all of their tips.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't work there. In all my years I've never seen something like what you are describing. Are they the only club around? If so, maybe look into a private party company.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

Whether or not something is "worth it" is COMPLETELY a personal decision.

Think about the reason why you started dancing "A big reason to start dancing was to make more money working less days so I have time for school and other responsibilities"

We all trade our time for money.

Is the time you can spend with your child worth $50 when you make $400/night?

Well, the club I work for told me I can work as much or as little as i want... days or nights. So that seems odd to me, as well.
