    Default coffee, tea, or niether?

What do you start your day with? Coffee, tea or niether? If you picked tea, what kind do you preffer to start your day with? If you picked niether, what do you do? I am trying to cut coffee out of my life(again), and already have been a big tea fan for several years now. I'm just curious about what the rest of the ladies here do.

I have a pot of coffee every morning and have since I was 14-15 years old. When I was little, maybe 5 years old, my grandma used to fix me a cup of her decaf coffee in the mornings I was with her. I'd drink it black, too. So, I pretty much grew up drinking coffee, and don't plan on quitting any time soon.

Why do you want to quit drinking coffee? Sleep problems? Something else?

Coffee since I was sixteen. My father used to wake me up every morning with a cup. He makes the best fucking coffee- no idea what he puts in it, other than evaporated milk. But omgz it's to die for.

Booo now I miss my dad. Fail.

My body is super sensitive to caffeine. If I drink coffee at 4 in the afternoon, I will not be able to sleep untold 5 am. Also, I sometimes have anxiety problems, and too much coffee can trigger panic attacks; its rare, but it has happened, and it is awful. It messes me up for 3 days. Another reason I want to cut it out, is that it has too many dehydrating properties. I can basically think of a thousand reasons why I should cut coffee, and one would think that knowing what I do about it would make it easy, but no, coffee always finds a way to come creeping back onto my life..... even if I've been off it for like seven months. It's frustrating.
I really love green & white teas, and I know that its great that I drink so much, but I must confess it doesn't have the zing that coffee does. It's fun to get jacked up on caffeine sometimes. Is there anything else I can do to get the same buzz? Please nobody say drugs, because I refuse to touch them.

neither. I juice veggies in the morning most days.... occasionally I'll have a cup of mate or green tea if I need an energy boost but I've tried to quit coffee because I'm way too sensitive to caffeine, it makes me super emotional and dizzy.

Ooh! I love juicing! It's gets really expensive after a while though, because I do. All organic veggies & fruits.

yeah.. it does get expensive, but so does a 4 dollar latte every day of the week !

another reason i'm moving out of this frigid cold and back to cali- wayyyy cheaper organic produce! green juice is really energizing without the jitteriness of coffee.

Coffee. Love it. I probably won't ever stop drinking it, but I try to limit it to 16oz a day.

Apparently apples are really good at waking you up naturally.

Just try to ween yourself off it. When I quit caffeine cold turkey I got a migraine for 4 days, so it'll likely be best to do it slowly for you. Eventually your body will adjust to not having so much caffeine and you won't need as much to get that buzz.

These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

I'm really sensitive to caffeine too. I never use anything to "wake up". If I'm sleepy I'll do crunches or something. But sometimes when I need to stay up late I'll do green tea very slowly, I get too jittery if I drink a cup all at once. Mate does the same to me. But like 1/2 cup green tea over 30 min, I'm good!

BTW, if I could get away with it, I'd juice very day for the rest of my life. <3

I'm a coffee girl me...have been since College. A large mug of Columbian Rich-roast in the morning (with cream and sugar) - and croissants for 'dunking'. Mmmm.

Tea (Lapsang Souchong) - is for the afternoon. With cucumber, salmon or potted shrimp sandwiches.....

100% columbian supremo bean dark roast coffee ( which I roast and grind myself ) !!! Breakfast of Champions !

By mid-afternoon, though, I switch to green tea with lemon ( often with a shot of Patron silver on the side !)

Neither-I start with water. But on the weekends, Ill do ONE 8oz cup of coffee brewed at home with my espresso maker. I put in a ton of cream, so I only drink one cup for calorie reasons.

If I have tea, Red Rose is my favorite. It's a dark tea, almost coffee-like, so if you are looking for a replacement, try this brand.

Neither. My mom used to give me Shaklee Protein Mix in Chocolate, then switched me to Chocolate Slim Fast with I was in about 4th grade. Ever since Slim Fast (mixed with bottled water) has been my breakfast of choice. It's not too heavy, easy to make, and gets me through the first part of the day.

Water for me. One glass when I first wake up and wash down all my vitamins (b-12, multi, glucosamine, fish oil, probiotic, executive B). Wait 30 mins and eat breakfast. Wait another 30 mins and have another glass of water.

Thank you! I had forgotten about matè. It's so good for your stomach too. This is most likely the route I'll take.

I start the day with a pot of coffee, have done for years. Then throughout the day I'll drink tea (hot with soy milk). Tea is British heroin!

For coffee and tea drinkers - what do you put in there?

I like coffee mate and sugar but those calories are killer! But I don't want to add any aspartame.

    Me too! With almond milk.

But sometimes if I have to be up earlier than usual, I'll brew some french for costa rican. Can't have more than 1 cup or I get the jitters. Sometimes I switch to green or white tea.

But that chai! Sometimes 3 cups a day!
