Thumbs up Getting Restylane in tear troughs!

I'm so excited. I have been using Juvederm in my lips for years and LOVE it. I wanted Juve in my tear troughs but my PS reccomended Restylane. Apparently Juve leaves a white halo effect sometimes. Ick. Anyway she does her own and it looks fantastic! I'm so stoked to get rid of these huge black bags that make me look so tired!

My appt is during one of my post BA appointments (March 3d) I'm splitting a syringe with my mom. My PS did my mom's marionette line, lips and upper lips. It only takes about 1/4 of a syringe I guess so we'll find somewhere to put the rest!

My mom is giving me whats left of her Juvederm to do my upper lip touch up (since I just did them in November). Basicaly tradin her 1/2 my restylane for 1/2 her Juvederm. LOL.

Anyway just thought I'd share and see if any of you other girls have had fillers in your tear troughs?

I had Juvederm injected into my tear troughs a few months ago and it didn't have much of an effect. My doc is inexperienced in injecting in tear troughs, though, so that might be part of the problem.

In a few months, I'm going to a different PS to have it done, and maybe I'll have Restylane put in instead of Juvederm--maybe it'll work better. Also, I think the experience and expertise of the PS is probably the most important factor in a quality result. I had recently moved and had to find a new doc, and I'm not super impressed with her.

Good luck, and I'm sure you'll be happy with the results!

I am going next week for the same thing!

I am only 28 so I don't have severe lines..just dark circles and some crinkly skin. Its mostly genetic, but I feel like uncle fester with my dark circles!

Make sure you go to the restylane website--there is a rebate form you can fill out and with a dr's note, and the hologram from the box you get $50 per syringe.

I am getting my tear troughs done, and wanted to know if 1 syringe would be enough to put a little in my lips, also? I am pretty happy with my lips, they are decently full, but wouldn't mind making them a bit poutier.

THANKS! I'll be sure to do that! Botox had the same offer not long ago! You should be able to put the remainder in your lips....my PS said it takes only 1/4 syringe at most for tear troughs.

I will for sure! I've been wanting it done forever as well. I'm still trying to find an alternative to botox in my forehead. My PS said Juve is out bec it's to thick and leaves lumps in fine lines. Boo to that!

Yes I've been on that site for YEARS! LAtely though I've been on justbreastimplantsdotcom since I just got my third set of implants. YAY!

I had my tear troughs done twice, but it only lasted for a few months each time and is expensive to maintain. But they looked amazing and helped with my dark circles, I would do it again if there was something that lasted longer.

Danni, I didn't have any bruising or swelling. It didn't hurt much, either. I don't think there are as many nerve endings in that part of the face. I was the second patient my doc ever injected into the tear troughs, so I'm pretty sure that's why I wasn't happy with the results.

If your doc does it to herself and her office staff, I'm sure she'll do a great job on yours too. I want to see pictures after you have it done!

Tear troughs are the hollows under your eyes. They get worse when you get older because you lose fat in your face. They cast shadows, making you look like you have dark circles under your eyes.

Have you heard of Restylane Fine Line for your forehead? It's a type of Restylane they use to fill in fine lines, specifically.

OMG I LOVE Restylane in my tear troughs. Gosh what have I been waiting for. I didn't know my creases were THAT bad until I got them filled lol. It looks great. I got a local block which was the only part that hurt a bit. I have one tiny bruise on one side and that's it! My PS did a fantastic job and said it lasts at least a year bec in this area there is minimal movement.

    Fingers crossed!

    Restylane update===

I tried it yesterday! I used 1 syringe and she used 3/4 in my tear troughs and the last 1/4 in my lips. I have decent lips, not particularly thin, but I thought it would be fun to enhance them.

I had a nurse practicioner do it, and i think she did a great job. She was very nice, careful, explained everything. I used a lidocaine block so it was pretty numb, i didnt feel any of the needles.

Later, my face was definitely sore. I felt like i had gotten punched on the left side of my face. It was sore to smile, etc. I took a couple tylenol and iced a bit.

Today my cheeks look a little puffy but no bruising. So far I am really excited! Dark circles nearly gone and lips look good, especially the top.

Ok, going for a short consult and pay and set up and appt in an hour. I have sooo many questions! Danni, did your PS mix it with lidocaine and epinephrine? To kind of water it down so it's smoother? Because my lady says she does not do this. Also, my lady goes under the muscle, to the bone. Did your PS use this technique, or keep it more superficial?

    I'm soooo freaking excited!

Not watered down, not mixed with anything. Super smooth, no lumps! Had a local that wore off in a few hrs and some topical. No pain. Superficial. Strange tech going under the muscle...never heard of that with filler?! Lemme klnow how it goes!

JD any reason why you're not going with juvederm? I know you are a fan.

    Good luck!

I don't know why, but Restylane is the preferred injectable for under the eye.

I had it done yesterday. I LOVE the result on my left eye, but my right eye is VERY swollen. I'm kind of going into panic mode right now. Agh!!!!

JD...don't panic! Swelling will go down and everything will smooth out. I had a red lumpy for a couple days but everything is perfect now!

Juvederm is too thick and leaves a whitish halo when injected under the eyes.
