    Default Should I even go?

    Hello,
i am attending a university in a small town and I went to the local strip club here to apply for a job. This town has a reputation for things being....welll...."country". Its very small. I'm not really worried about running into anyone I know there because its mostly an older crowd and the strip club here isnt advertised or perceived to be like the other strip clubs in my home city, where most of my friends that attend college with me are from.

Also, the population of people who actually live here are caucasion, and I as well as my friends are black so I doubt they would even think of showing up to this club and besides it looks a little raggedy on the outside. Anyway I went there this past Thursday to get hired (I didnt dress sexy or anything, because not to toot my own horn but Im pretty attractive in anything I wear and I knew that there wouldnt be much competition as far as the other dancers) I was totally right, everyone there was bad built and pudgy and etc etc. I couldve got on stage that night and took all the customers (it was only 3).

Of course I got hired, I couldve started then but I didnt have any clothes or anything. Im not supposed to start until I receive my ss card but the manager is so desperate for me to dance I couldve started tonight without it. I understand his enthusiasm because the better looking girls you have the more money you make so its a win win. He makes money I make money.

Great right? Wrong. I drove by the club last night to see what the crowd would look like on a Friday. It was dead. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt and drove by again tonight and counted a total of 7 cars. 5 were probably the dancers. I am already not too fond of the idea of dancing but I need to make money, I tried it breifly before back home and didnt make that much because I was a newbie and everyone I worked with was a thick booty shaking pole working split doing professional. I got outshined. At this club I could be the "outshiner" but I am wondering is it even worth it?

I dont see the potential of any big money guys in there so I would say I would average anywhere below 60 a night with house fees. So what do you guys think, should I go and work there and get what little money there is to get or just forget about it and try to find work where there are a bit more customers and potential money?

If you don't like the idea of dancing, and the club is dead anyway - just get a regular job.

Maybe start there to get used to hustling and what not? Then, you can move on to a better club?

I think it really depends on what you want. All it takes is one customer. If you WANT to work at the club then do it... but don't depend on the club to bring in the customers. Print some cards with your name and where you work... and give them out when you go out. I regularly leave club passes with my restaurant checks when the waiter hits on me or a friend & I. I'll also give them out when I'm out at night clubs etc. Basically, if you want to do work on the stage try to find customers to come see you.

Otherwise, you could also look at web cam work or private parties.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.
