Default weight loss motivation / help

I started a new program last week. exactly a week ago today.

it involved lowering my calories to 1400 per day and burning at least 200 cals through exercise.

in a week iv seen no weight loss/change. i feel slimmer in the mornings but by the evening feel demotivated and no different - in fact maybe even a tad bigger!!. my training / exercising is going well -im a keen runner and always have been. iv added weights into my cardio to strengthen and build a little muscle in order to raise my metabolism.

is it because the programme is for people to take the weight off slowly and maintain it - or is the first week of weight loss generally hard?

any words of wisdom appreciated as right now im considerting jacking the whole thing in and going three ways with Ben & Jerry.....

The first week is always the most difficult. If by week 3 you don't see any change, then I would worry. And it does sound like yours is a gradual program, not rapid weight loss and not maintence either. Just a nice, slow, steady, LASTING weight loss.

And remember-dont ONLY go by the scale-you should be using a tape measurer as well to track inches lost, and even more get calipered by a personal trainer to measure body fat %.

It's always hard, honey. Keep trying though and don't become overly discouraged!

Oh no!! Step away from the Ben and Jerry's!
It's just going to take some time. Muscle weighs more than fat. So you may be gaining muscle first. Then your metabolism will pick up and zoom- you will slim out.
Hey, at least you're getting started. Help motivate me to get off my ass!!!
Seriously, I'm just waiting for nicer weather. I can't exercise indoors.
Anywho, I' no expert, but stick with it.

Thank you! I'm going by measurements now and the fact that my clothing feels comfortable as opposed to slightly tight!

Il keep it up - I'm just impatient! :~

What are you eating? Give yourself time like the others said, you will be fine. I find that magazines like Oxygen and Muscle and Fitness Hers very helpful and Oxygen has a message board, there are some really knowledgable people on there-some of them tend to be a bit straight forward and seem abrasive but they mean well, very helpful.

Don't give up... Weight loss is science... calories in vs calories out. Now if only science could do something with our willpower. Willpower is the hard part.

One of the biggest things for me is not buying the food that i shouldnt be eating.

you are considering digging into the ben and jerrys? I would say stop buying ben and jerrys. you are much less likely to eat it if you dont have it in your freezer.

once in a while reward yourself. but yea... i binge eat when i am bored and have food i like to binge on. terrible combination!

also... isnt this you: http://forum.stripperweb.com/showthread.php?t=134339? Did you gain weight since then? If you are trying to get back there... look at that picture... that should be good motivation .
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.
