    Default What's your workout routine?

I usually work out 5-7 days a week. Which includes:

3-5 days of walking/biking to and from the gym. If I walk it is an hour each way, if I bike it is 30 mins each way.

5 days a week of running 1km around the track at the gym.
5 days a week of doing eleptical (20 mins)

    2-3 days a week I will swim.

Tuesdays I go to step class
Wednesdays and Sundays I go to Bars and Plates

If I miss a day it is usually Thursdays, just to let my muscles relax.

I start with about a 15 min stretch and do 3 sets of ten of the leg lifts that do ur abs.
Then 50 min to an hr on tread mill at a 10 % incline.
Then end that with the same 15 min stretch ab workout.
I alternate days of after the treadmil I'll do arm and back weights then on another day I'll do legs.
I do this 5 or 6 days a week. I've been doing it for the past 5 months and lost about 15 lbs and toned up aton my eating habits have totally changed to a mostly orginic veg diet and cutting out 90% of my alcohol intake. I'm really happy with what I've acomplised but it takes forever! I'm losing about 2 lbs a month.still worth it tho

At the moment i'm slipping because the dayjob is hectic so i'm doing 12hours at the office before i stagger home. But generally it's this:
Mon - 30 mins at gym, 15 min walk to dance studio, 1 hour dance class
    Tue - 1 hour gym
Wed - 30 mins at gym, 15 min walk to dance studio 1.5hour dance class
    Thur - 1 hour gym
    Fri - 40 mins gym
Sat - 1.5 hour dance class
    Sun - rest

At the moment i'm managing 3-4 of those session per week I'd much rather be in the gym and dance studio than at my dayjob!

So this is kind of what I'm doing, but I am doing 3 days of heavy weight lifting. I have also completely changed my eating habits, and I quit drinking alcohol all together. But WTF, it is taking for-ev-er to see results! They say when you lose it slowly from diet and exercise, it actually stays off, versus losing weight quickly from drastic measures. I can't wait to see how I look in five months!

TUE / Thu Stretch, 1.5 mile run , legs , 20 minute eliptical,
SAT 30 minute eliptical, 45 minute spinning class

Spinning is 45 minutes of pure sweat workout with thumping music on a bike. My legs burn during and afterwards, my butt in the beginning was sore but now I'm getting used to it. It's the best exercise just don't plan anythything afterwards for the first couple of weeks.

Run 40-45 miles a week. One day at the track with a coach. Couple days at the pool (45min max). Weights only one day a week. Pushup and abs almost everyday.

Whoa you guys work out like crazy, I feel like a bum compared to you all!

I usually stretch everyday for 30mins since I really want to improve my flexibility
Then 2-3 times a week, I work on my cardio, arms mainly push ups, and legs for an hr.
On days where I feel lazy I just do 20-40mins of yoga depending on how I feel.
    Then sunday's I have 1hr pole class.

I vary things up a lot to prevent boredom, but it usually breaks down to 2-3 days of weight lifting, one day of yoga, one day of pilates, and 3-4 cardio sessions. The boyfriend puts together my weight training routines and these vary depending on what my goals are. Right now he's got me doing interval training which is a nice change of pace. I do cardio on the elliptical or sometimes if the weather is nice I go for runs on a trail by my house.

I fell off the workout wagon for a few months due to some really bad stuff going on but now I'm back to it and I can't believe how much I've missed it. I'm at the heaviest I have been ever but fortunately I was always very thin so I don't look bad, just average instead of slender. Most of the extra chub is coming off fairly quickly. Thank goodness for good habits formed early on in life.

Wow you girls do alor, I have just joined the gym myself and this is the routine I was thinking of following

Mon: Body Balance 1 hr (combo of tai chi, Yoga and pilates) Body Combat 1 hr (Martial arts style cardio work out)

    Tues: Weight and cardio

Wed: THT 1hr (targets tummy hips and thighs) Body Balance 1hr

    Thursday: Day off

    Friday: Weights and cardio

    Sat/Sun: day off

Is this to much or not enough In your opinion? I want to tone up and slim down fairly fast but am not to sure if im over doing it or underdoing it lol........Its all new to me this gym stuff
    You love it!

One thing to consider is that when you try to lose weight really fast, you can gain it back just as fast. When I really started getting disciplined about my workouts and diet, I did things gradually, so it's more of a lifestyle change. What I mean is, don't try to kill yourself at first, just go into it slowly and step it up so that you are constantly challenging yourself. You don't want to burn out and gain the weight back, you want to permanently change your lifestyle so that your body/healthy just continues to get better and better! I think two classes on Monday is overkill for a beginner. I would just aim for getting in at least five days a week, and incorporate weight lifting. Do one day a week of a class, and change it up every so often.

I don't think it is too much, sounds just right to me. 2 classes seems like a lot, but body balance is not high intensity so is a nice 2nd class.

I'm so happy a have a set work/school schedule now. Yay! I can finally slot in a regular work out routine. This is what I've been doing.

    Tues - Body pump
    Wed - Pole class
    Thurs - Body attack
    Mon/Fri - RPM
Fri/Sat - work - it is a freaking workout! It's all stage dancing where I work and exhausting.

Everyday - hoofing it all over campus. I swear I must walk 5-8kms a day. I should get one of those thingys that measures your steps. What are they called?
