    Default Caffeine Pills

    Hey everyone.

I know they're not healthy but I do sometimes take these when I need the energy but am simply not in the mood for coffee or an energy drink.

However, sometimes (like right now), they seem to be having the opposite effect on me. I took two about 40 minutes ago and I feel... almost buzzed. Like, calm and relaxed although a also a bit "out of it".

Any ideas why this is the case? Anyone experience anything similar?

For what it's worth, the package says that two pills are "the equivalent of two cups of coffee".

    Thanks!!!

Ah, caffeine. I think I know what you're talking about. Coffee on an empty stomach and everything goes super clear, sharp and I feel like I'm strung out on something.

It'll wear off in an hour or so.

    Thanks!

I was hoping you'd respond; I know you mentioned you're studying medicine so you'd would know exactly what I was talking about.

Awesome. Hopefully I don't crash completely b/c I'm headed into work now.

    Thanks again!

I get the worst migraines if I stop having caffeine. However, I get the same thing - it calms me down, chills me out. I never get the OMGHYPEROMFG feelings from caffeine, I just get super chill.

Caffeine PILLS always gave everyone I know the shits though. I hope OP is not one who suffers that unfortunate side effect.

I hear caffeine is a diuretic, but a laxative? Fuck. That just scares me. Do the pills containe phenylalanine or something? Ugh.

Hi and thanks to everyone who added.

I did not crash so that's a plus! however, it is now 4:53 AM and... here I am... Awake! Dangit. Hopefully I'll be in dreamland soon.

I did eat a few crackers and a handful of bite-size candy bars (I usually don't touch the stuff but it's that time of the month for me, unfortunately!)

As for the diuretic/laxative effect of the pills, I'm doing OK in both of those fields. I have noticed, when I drink Starbucks coffee, that I- ahem- head to the restroom shortly thereafter (for both #1 and #2)!

I'm not sure about the phenylalanine content; I don't see it listed on the box. Btw, the pills are generic (Duane Reade brand) caffeine pills with 200 mg of caffeine in each pill.

Your adrenal glands could be cracked out. Try taking some tyrosine. It's an amino acid that is a precursor to adrenaline. It is helpful for people on uppers. Google it.
