    Default snapfitness?

Wasn't sure where to put this one as it really is not wholly fitness related

Anyhow things are not going so hot for me right now. My toe is seriously infected and had surgery (I will need MONTHS of medication/care as my doctor told me), which makes me unable to work regularly right now (maybe a few days here and there). I should be back to work within 2 months, as my doctor said things will hopefully clear up by then.

That said financially things are very tight for me. I am a month behind on all my bills except my car insurance. I decided to cancel my insurance policy because as it stands right now I cannot afford to pay $410 a month. Thus the car sits parked in my driveway- I won't drive it.

I am able to cover my rent, which is $800 as I get a check for about $1000 monthly. The other $200 is spent on food for me and my dogs. My drug plan covers 80% of my medication costs, basically I end up paying $15 or so a month for the medications.

I danced 2 days so far this month, made $650.

I am considering dropping my gym membership at the YMCA ($70 a month) and instead trying this snap fitness. www.snapfitness.com

The facilities are very basic (not even a shower), but the price matches-$200 for a six month membership. It is down the street from my home and open 24/7. I like that, especially since I cannot use my car anymore. The Y on the other hand is an hour walk from my home.

My toe is really infected, but I can still walk. I basically had to have the entire nail ripped out of it (a minor surgery) after it got smashed in a bad fall. I am on a 6 month course of drugs for it. I am able to work, however not really "up to it" since I have to wear stilettos and all. It is painful for me to be walking in stilettos right now. Runners I seem to do fine, but as we all know that is not club wear.

I like the Y because it has a sauna, whirlpool and shower. I also like using the track and pool there. However at this point cannot really afford it.

Anyhow have any thoughts/experience with snap fitness?

Oh and here is something similar to what they did to my toenail, except mine will grow back....

I was a member of Snap fitness for a year until I moved into an apartment complex with a fabulous fitness center. I was incredibly happy with them. You do everything yourself, during the day, there's someone there to monitor the and I'd recommend wiping the machines down before and after you use them. (They're supposed to be wiped down after every use, but people forget.) I really didn't have any complaints with them.

I was very happy with them at one point. Until it was time to cancel.

I cancelled in the first week of June because I was moving. They had already withdrawn my money for July, too, but no big deal. Then they charged me for August a month later. When I called to complain, they told me I didn't give them enough notice and wouldn't refund my money. So apparently you can leave a job in good standing with 2 weeks notice, but a whole month isn't good enough for Snap Fitness.

They look just like my gym.
I used to workout at a 24 hour fitness with a pool and steam room and all that but an anytime fitness was only a couple blocks away from my house. At first I really missed being able to shower at the gym but I got used to it. It's also nice belonging to a small gym because you get to know people.

I'm not going to lie, I still miss the pool but having my gym open 24 hours a day right down the road is soooo convenient. I don't think I would work out as much as I do if I had to drive all the way to my old gym every time.

Thanks for the input about this place. It seems relatively cheap and it is just a 15 minute walk from my house.

For the price $200 for 6 months, I do not care that they don't have a shower. I do think I will miss the pool though
